Hello Proxysql Community members,

I want to know if the order of the queries mirrored to the mirror hostgroup while using proxysql mirroring feature is preserved or not ?

I found an old percona blog from 2017 which states that the order of the queries is not preserved.

I couldn't find anything regarding this in the proxysql documentation.

Looking forward to help from proxysql community on this.

Regards
Tushar

Hi Tushar,

The order is not preserved.
To preserve the order, queries must be serialized in the way they are ordered in the backend .
ProxySQL cannot know how in which order they are executed in the backend.
Thus, to ensure that nobody would even try to use ProxySQL mirroring as an alternative to replication (because it cannot work!) , not only the order is not preserved: the order in which queries are executed is chosen randomly.

Thanks,
René
