Step 1: Have you enabled pop/imap in your Gmail account?
Sign in to the Gmail web interface. Open the 'Forwarding and POP/IMAP' tab on
your 'Settings' page, and configure IMAP or POP. After enabling this in Gmail,
make sure you click 'Save Changes'.
Then try sending a test email from the Goblin with the wizards settings.
If it still does not work, try using port
587 (with TLS) instead.
If that still does not work, disable all antivirus & firewalls and try again.

Scroll all the way down to "Can you connect to the SMTP server?" and try running
the telnet test described.
