Kansas Embalmer Practice Course
About the Service:
The Kansas Embalmer
Practice Course is a two-day program that provides the information necessary to
prepare individuals to be licensed in the state of Kansas. The course is
designed to meet the requirements of KSA 75-3427 and 75-3428.
This course is designed for those individuals who wish to become licensed
embalmers in the state of Kansas. This course will cover all aspects of
embalming including: anatomy, pathology, body preparation and cosmetics;
arterial injection; cavity preparation; drainage systems and other equipment
used in modern funeral service establishments; disinfection procedures;
sanitation procedures; legal responsibilities of the embalmer; and other
related topics. In addition, students will have an opportunity to practice each
subject area by performing actual work on cadavers under supervision from
instructors.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a certificate
from the Kansas Funeral Directors Association (KFDA). Students must also take
and pass the National Board Examination administered by NBE (National Board
Examination) or its equivalent prior to being eligible for licensure as an
embalmer.
