About the Service:
The Kansas Hearing Aid
Dispenser Practice Course is designed to provide the student with an
opportunity to learn the basic principles of hearing aid dispensing. The course
is approved by the Kansas Board of Regents and taught by instructors certified
by the Kansas Commission on Veterans' Affairs and funded by its Commission on
Veteran's Affairs Contract 562-9000-0003.
The program has been developed to provide practical experience in hearing aid
dispensing techniques, including:
Demonstrating how to use a microscope in making adjustments of hearing aids and
their associated parts.
Demonstrating how to fit a patient with hearing aids using the appropriate
instrumentation.
Demonstrating how to demonstrate proper care and maintenance of hearing aids,
batteries and accessories.
Demonstrating how to properly adjust various types of hearing instruments
(behind-the-ear and in-the-ear).
