This is a Maryland state course designed to help you pass the MD state
licensure exam. The course is designed for all levels of pathology
professionals and will prepare you for the NCCPA Certification Exam.
The Maryland Pathology Legal and Regulatory Guidebook, 2nd Edition (AAPA, 2014)
has been incorporated into this course to provide you with current information
on legal and regulatory issues. This guidebook is regularly updated by AAPA’s
Legal Affairs Committee and provides guidance on current issues affecting
pathology practice in Maryland.
In addition to the Maryland Pathology Legal and Regulatory Guidebook, the
National Cancer Institute's Physician Data Query (PDQ) website has been
included to provide additional access to patient care related data including
cancer statistics and treatment options. The PDQ website also includes links to
information on specific cancers such as breast cancer or lung cancer as well as
other topics such as colonoscopy or prostate cancer screening.
