by c. 1500, "a written message sent by superior authority; a commandment," noun use of the adjective (mid-15c.) meaning "sent by superior authority" (in phrase lettres missives) from Medieval Latin missivus "for sending, sent," especially in littera missiva "letters sent," from Latin missus, past participle of mittere "to send" (see mission).
Meaning "an organized effort for the spread of religion or for enlightenment of a community" is by 1640s; that of "a missionary post or station" is by 1769. The diplomatic sense of "body of persons sent to a foreign land on commercial or political business" is from 1620s; in American English, sometimes "a foreign legation or embassy, the office of a foreign envoy" (1805).
General sense of "that for which one is sent or commissioned" is from 1670s; meaning "that for which a person or thing is destined" (as in man on a mission, one's mission in life) is by 1805. Meaning "dispatch of an aircraft on a military operation" (by 1929, American English) was extended to spacecraft flights (1962), hence, mission control "team on the ground responsible for directing a spacecraft and its crew" (1964). As a style of furniture, said to be imitative of furniture in the buildings of original Spanish missions to western North America, it is attested from 1900.
Has anyone else, had an Issue with not receiving "The Missive for Ebele" after completing the heart and buying the Skimmer saddle? I've redone that heart several times, hoping it would trigger the mail and no luck. I turned in a ticket a few days ago about it, but no answer yet. Just curious to know if I'm the only one.
You're not the only one. Although, I thought I had not received it... sure enough I checked my mailbox on the character I first did the skimmer heart quest on, and there it was in a message from Ardra. There was no mail notification that I had received anything!
I checked my mail 3 times before I made this post and couldn't find it. I made this post and sent in a ticket(not in that order), then checked my mail daily for a response and heard nothing about it. I check through my mail one more time and lo and behold, there it was, hidden in my mail on the day I did the heart. I swear to God I'm getting too old and senile. :/
Hello Again, i'am still locked with that achieve, i checked my mail (now my box is empty so it's easy) and no missive, if someone knows how i could get an other one.I already tryed with an other character but nothing. :/
Same here. Gone through all my mails, got one from Skimmer Trainer Ardra to meet her and buy a skimmer saddle, (still in inbox) however, I already have the skimmer and talking to her doesn't offer me the Ebele missive. As mentioned, searched all char inventory, mails and bank - no missive.
Is there a way to get another one? I did this on a character that I deleted and am trying to do the collection now on another. I have the skimmer, and have done the heart, but I haven't gotten any mail and if I did get mail on the other character then I never saw it.
I accidentally ate my Missive for Ebele too. Tried completing the heart for Skimmer Trainer Ardra, but didn't get another mailing. Instead decided to visit Ebele with nothing in my inventory and when I interacted with her, the option for "I have something for you" or similar popped up. The quest completed and gave me a new different letter.
It wasn't working for me so I just submit a ticket to arenanet support saying that I couldn't find my Missive for Ebele in any of my character's bag or mailbox and they send me another one in just a few hours ?
The goal is less email clutter and more efficient communication. Teams can achieve this without question, for internal comms. Please dont tell me to just use Teams without reading and understanding the workflow required :)
1. I get an email from a client that I need response from 3 other team member before I can reply. In missive I "assign" the email to them. They instantly see the email in their "assigned to me" inbox. Then we can txt chat under this email as much as required. Share files and even collaboratively compose a reply.
2. Or I get an email that another team member (Bob) jsut needs to take some action on - I "assign" the email to Bob, then simply type my notes in the assigned message chat. Bob see the chat and email in his "assigned to me" inbox. Done.
3. Zero inbox. Everything in my inbox is either archived (no action required), replied to instantly, snoozed, or assigned to other team members and then archived. Any messages that are assigned to me (and or other team members) and then archived instantly pop back into my inbox when anyone replies - in the chat -> which creates way less clutter than someone sending me yet another email with all the quoting and conversation threads that get massive and un-usable very quickly.
@Jon_J73 Teams isn't really a shared inbox, more a collaboration tool. You can kind of fashion something between an exchange mailbox, power automate, Teams and planner, but it won't be the simple integrated solution you have today.
Double-click to consume.
A missive from Skimmer Trainer Ardra containing information on troop movements. Intended for delivery to Healer Ebele north of Arid Gladefields. Can be consumed for Mastery experience and karma.
Hint: Given by Skimmer Trainer Ardra after completing the renown region and purchasing a skimmer saddle.
Hi there... again! Look at me, writing another letter. First off, thanks again for helping out at my camp. I'm glad you're such a helpful person, because I need your help again now that you've got a skimmer to help you get around.
I've attached a note to this letter. Take it to Ebele, please. It contains information on Forged and Awakened troop movements. We've used it to keep our food shipments safe. Hopefully, Ebele can use it for her exiles.
