To prioritize the development and support of newer versions, WinZip regularly phases out older versions of its software. As a result, technical support for retired versions is discontinued. However, self-service support through the knowledge base is still available. Visit our support page for more information.

WinZip is a trialware file archiver and compressor for Microsoft Windows, macOS, iOS and Android. It is developed by WinZip Computing (formerly Nico Mak Computing), which is owned by Alludo. The program can create archives in Zip file format, unpack some other archive file formats and it also has various tools for system integration.

From version 6.0 until version 9.0, registered users could download the newest versions of the software, enter their original registration information or install over the top of their existing registered version, and thereby obtain a free upgrade. This upgrade scheme was discontinued as of version 10.0.[6]

Even though our "perpetual" licenses are in principle valid for an unlimited period of time, the technical progress of hardware and software may mean that these licenses cannot be used in practice to run older versions of the software for an unlimited period of time.

Also, because legacy licenses may not be compatible with new operating system versions or computers, in certain situations, upgrading to a current version of WinZip may be necessary to ensure safe operation.

Checking the computers that have it installed will be the most reliable way to be sure you have the right GUIDs but you may also look to the "Inventory Records" for each of the versions in the Software Library for uninstall commands like this. -1/16-89

Not perfect, the GUID string replacement can be improved and some other small things, but this powershell script should work. It goes through everything registered in Add/Remove and uninstalls it based on it's uninstallstring GUID. It also checks if the uninstallation failed.

Only works with MSI's and i take no responsibility for what might happen if you use this :P
It MUST run in Powershell x86 if you're using a 64bit system. SCCM launches powershell x86 automatically if you call powershell.exe in the program.

1). older Desktop versions with document for list of features included
2). older Bloom versions with document for list of features included
3). corresponding Enterprise and Community versions
4). database that came packaged as default with that Desktop version
5). APOC version for that Desktop and Database version

Hi, thanks for the response and links. I will check them out. Please do let me know if you are able to find any information on #2 (Bloom) and #5 (APOC) compatible versions documentation and download links for the corresponding older versions of Desktop/Enterprise/Community. Appreciate your help.

Thanks, I was hoping to find the version #s and download link to the Bloom and APOC for a corresponding older version of the Desktop. So, versions that were released when, for example, Desktop 1.3.x was released, as there possibly may be some compatibility issues with different installed configurations.

I still have winzip 18 and refuse to upgrade any further since I have seen nothing in the upgrades to produce more security. I thought about 7-zip but there were a lot of cautions on the info page so I decided to stick with winzip.

My need is to zip and unzip files and folders and sometimes create a password protected zip file and if 7-Zip can do everything that WinZip can do in that regard then I may either keep my copy of WinZip 19 or switch to 7-Zip if someone can give me a reason to do so. Since there is a 7-Zip beta though, I would like to know more about that if someone has any details. Thanks.

Windows does almost all the Zipping I need.
If I need to create a zip with a password I use 7-Zip.
7-Zip also creates a self extractor if you use the 7z format and it can open lots of other archive types, even ISO.
Where 7-Zip falls down is use, it is not intuitive for me and I usually have to think carefully about what I want to do.

I got the same problem both with Winzip 16.5 and Winzip 19. Both are original versions downloaded from Winzip. I'm really interested why such a widely used application is not correctly filtered/excluded from eset av scanner. (Esest Smart Security 8.0.312.0)

Windows XP comes with software for unzipping a zipped file. For older versions of Windows, WinZip may be used to decompress the files. Click on the following link to download WinZip: www.winzip.com/downwz.htm. UNIX/LINUX distributions normally come with decompressing software.

WinRAR is a competing product to WinZip; both productscompress/decompress and archive files. Files compressed with WinRARtypically have the .rar extension, as opposed to.zip for WinZip archives. WinRAR can also create anddecompress a WinZip archived file.

Like later versions of WinZip, WinRAR can create archives in multipleparts; that is, it not only can compress a file but can split it upinto smaller parts. In WinZip, this is called a split Zip file; inWinRAR, it's called a multipart or multivolume archive. When this isdone, the smaller RAR files are given the following extensions, inthis order: .rar, .r00, .r01,and so forth. To decompress a multipart archive, make sure all thecomponent files are in the same directory and double-click the.rar file. WinRAR will automatically find all the other fileswithout you having to select them, and assemble the final decompressedfile from them.

As of March 8, 2022, if you have already purchased a business product or service (Business Offering), your use of the Business Offering is subject to the BULA. The BULA replaces our pre-March 8 EULAs for all applicable versions of our business products and services. All purchases of Business Offerings after March 8, 2022, will be governed by the BULA.

As of March 8, 2022, unless listed below, all non-enterprise/business versions of our products are now governed by a unified EULA. This makes it easier for our end users to understand their rights and obligations regarding their use of our products.

If you have more than five licenses of any non-enterprise versions of the Corel, MindManager or Parallels software; and/or 100 licenses of any non-enterprise versions of WinZip, you may be eligible to upgrade to our enterprise software or to purchase maintenance services from us.

Upgrading to enterprise versions or obtaining CorelSure Maintenance and/or MindManager MSA provides software functionalities and features which are customized for business users such as software offline deployment, usage in virtualization environments, software support and maintenance, and named user rights.

The majority of MindManager specific terms from the pre-March 8th MindManager EULA remain unchanged. However, with the introduction of the new BULA, the new EULA excludes any provisions that only apply to business users. Provisions regarding named users, MSA, and deployments within virtualization environments, for example, now only appear in the BULA.

The academic-specific terms under the EULA and BULA will replace the Corel Academic Site License terms for EMEA-based customers and the Corel Academic License Terms for customers who are based elsewhere.

Individual end users of business users (i.e., employees, consultants, agents, etc.) do not need to accept the EULA. Instead, when the product is first downloaded or installed, the end user responsible for accepting the BULA on behalf of the business user now agrees that all end users at the business will abide by the BULA.

NOTE: The only exception to this rule is Parallels RAS, which has its own license terms, and which will not be subject to the BULA. Because of these specific license terms, end users of a Parallels RAS business user must still accept the new EULA.

For the last several months I have copied several data folders to zip files at weekly intervals. Now I'd like to combine those zip files into one zip file, because most of the contents of the existing zip files are just different versions of the same data files.

So if a file appears in more than one of the existing zip files, I'd like the newest version to be in the new zip file being created. Of course if a file appears in only one existing zip file, then I want it in the final zip file also.

The order of the unzipping is important: I don't know the pattern of your zip names, but I would extract the newest zip file first, the '-u' option of unzip overwrites only files if they are newer or creates files if not already there. As a result, you will unzip only the newest files and zip the result only once.

zipmerge merges the source zip archives source-zip into the target zip archive target-zip. By default, files in the source zip archives overwrite existing files of the same name in the target zip archive.

There is problem with this command line. I couldn't find a way to order the unzipping of archives, so an older archive may overwrite a newer archive. This problem may be overcome by using an unzipper the has a command line switch to only overwrite if newer. I mainly use 7-Zip which doesn't have such a command line option.
