Maik,

Provox has a similar approach to DeltaV for I/O configuration.

The cards are defined as part of the controller.  So in Envox, go to Utilities and then Input/Output configuration to define the cards.

Once the cards are defined, for each input or output, you need to create an IST (instrument signal tag).  This provides the I/O address (file, card, and channel), type of signal, scaling, units, and alarm limits.

Once the IST is defined, you can create your point (AI, AO, loop, etc)  the Point defines specifics for the control algorythm such as scan rate, description, linearization etc.  In the point form in envox, you link the IST to the point.

With all that configured, you can target your point to display consoles and generate and then download your devices.

On any field in envox that has a "v", you can press the F7 key to (or CTRL-V) to display a list of valid choices.

I know that this is very high level.  If you don't have manuals, you will need a significant amount of trial and error.
