Dear All,
I'am using Provox control system with 02 OWP ( Vaxstation ) and 01 SCU
( Alphastation 245 with openVMS 7.1 ) . Problem arises when we need to
replace the harddisk of this unit .
When i put in a standard SCSI harddisk > 9 GB it works fine and all
backup/restore commands run perfectly . But the copy does not boot
completely and enters an infinite read cycle in the start of boot
process . However any < 9 GB harddisk works perfectly and copies are
useable .Also note that the copy on > 9 gb harddisk is perfect and can
be duplicated on a smaller harddisk which runs perfectly !!
My question is :
1- Why the copy on higher sized harddisk fails to boot completely .Is
there a workaround for this . Older Harddisks are only available as
refurbished parts and they are very unreliable .
