I have to Provox DCS with two different highways and the same CHIP
Device. Highway1 OWP's has the time synced with our LAN. Highway2 OWP
however doesn't. The parent OWP is set as the Master Time for each
Highway. I know the CHIP Device pushes the time out to the slave
devices but where in the CHIP database configuration is this done at
the beginning or where. Because what we have is the 1st half of the
total CHIP Points go to one HWY and the 2nd half go to HWY 2. So every
time we generate CHIP configuration we have to merge the two GNR
files.

Any insite on how to fix this would be helpful. I'm also looking at
writing the time to either one of the controllers or OWP Consoles
using either an Operation or FST if possible. However, I am having
issues with finding the attributes of the devices.
I am open to any suggestions, if it is not clear on our Hwy Layout and
configuration I would be glad to explain more.

Like all Provox issues ... it's been awhile.

It appears that you are using Proflex to generate the CHIP downloads
rather than Envox.

I know that the Master Time information is kept in Envox, not sure how
to do it with Proflex.

In general, it is important to remember that Time Sync in provox syncs
devices with the master time node, but doesn't mean that the devices
are synced with an external clock. This typically means that all the
nodes in the provox system will drift away from the actual time
together.

With newer PC based CHIP databases, this gets easier to sync chip with
external clocks.

As for writing the time, I don't believe you can.

You can read the time via the (I am guessing here) TIME parameter of
(if I remember correctly) the LCP point (TIME[1] to TIME[6] give year/
month/day/hour/minute/second (in some order).

So ... what are you trying to do ... (and where are you located) ...
so I can make more appropriate suggestions.
