The 1.0.1 upgrade seems to have a problem with reminders. After re-authenticating myself to Google after the upgrade, a whole bunch of past reminders appeared and now I cannot dismiss them.

I have a secondary calendar that is part of my Google account, and the reminders in this calendar CAN be dismissed. The problem only appears to be in the main calendar associated with my gmail account.

I have tried uninstalling the provider version 1.0.1 and re-installing. No luck. I then tried uninstalling Lightning, reinstalling, then installing the provider again. Same problem. This is the log I received:

[JavaScript Error: "[calGoogleCalendar] Modifying item FW: Achitecture document failed:2147500037: {

Oh, and every time I try to dismiss the notifications, I get the yellow "warning" icon alongside my primary calendar.  If I use the menu to "Synchronize Calendars", the warning icon goes away and DOES appear to be synchronizing the items correctly (I created one in Lightning, it appeared on my phone, I deleted it there, and it went away in Lightning), so it appears to treat the calendar entries correctly, it just has a problem with the notifications.  Also, note that they are OLD notifications (from September of this year).

When I "Dismiss All" OR just the single item "Dismiss", I get the warning icon alongside my primary calendar entry in Lightning and the error message in my log (below)...

Same here. After receiving a notification popupe (I could not dismiss),  I suddenly started to get this error.

[calGoogleCalendar] Login failed for x...@gmail.com HTTP Status: 403 Reason: variableTermLimitExceeded

and none of my calendars did read properly :-(  - it worked for a while though, but now I get the yellow warning regardless of what I do. I used the latest version of TB (31.1.2 and now 31.2.0) with Lightning 3.3.1 and the Provider version 1.0.1 . And for people
who do not know how to find the errors, go to Tools -> Error Console  but you may also enable the error login first as
described here
https://wiki.mozilla.org/Calendar:GDATA_Provider#Enabling_calendar.debug.log

What I tried
* Remove calendars and recreate -> no effect (but was not expected to have any)
* Remove the Provider, quit TB, restart TB, reload the provider and re-create the calendars -> still no good
+ Removed the Provider 1.0.1 and install 0.32  found here
   https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/provider-for-google-calendar/versions/
   YES, works again.

Note and observations:
#1
* With 1.0.1, whenever I chose the Google Calendar, the "Location" box disappears and the next screen asks me
for my account Email. Then, the next panel is supposed to show the list of Calendars but the error above
appears BEFORE that and as a result, the supposedly list of possible calendars is empty
* In contrast, version 0.32 shows the Location and the rest is easy / implicit

#2
* I tried a trick i.e. using iCal ICS links as provided by Google calendar -> the calendars then shows
but in read-only mode. I hope this observation is helpful (it narrows down what works and what not)
* If I restart TB, the provider knows that I have references to Google calendars and ask me if I
want them to be R/W. If I say yes (i.e. select check boxes from a pop-up THEN showing the
list of calendars), I am back to square 1: all calendars are empty (in other words, do not show
any entries anymore, the original Google calendars are not affected) and the error above shows
  in the error log.

As noted, hope this will help Phillip to find / narrow down the issue.

I'm having the same problem. Updating to 1.0.1 from 0.x it is not working correct any more.

Thanks for your great job.

Some more info, that may be valuable. These reminders are for meetings that came from Microsoft Outlook and were automatically picked up by Google and added to my calendar. The only attribute I seem to be able to change in Lightning is the attendance option (will attend, might attend, will not attend) AND they seem to be recurring meetings. Could it be that there is a "lock" on Google's side for most attributes of this entry, only allowing changes to the attendance and notification, BUT the provider is attempting to change one of the other "locked" properties? Maybe?

We have this issue also and it manifest the same as you have described.
Ours is a complete new installation today. Details are:-

This thread is quite old now but the problem still lives. Is there a solution?
