I did a full system update, and not sure if that included a TB, Calendar, or Provider update. However, once I completed the update, it prompted me with the login to allow Provider to interact with Google. Did the log in and overall seems to have worked. However, my main calendar now is in read-only mode through TB, and even if I switch it off then on, then remove the read only checkbox, as soon as I'm done it's back to read only again and the checkbox greyed out. I also have 5 or so other calendars I've created, and all of those are still read-write with no issues. Further, if I log in to Google, my calendar that's read-only through TB is writeable through the browser.

I've uninstalled and re-installed Provider, but it seems to still cache my login. I'd like to force it to prompt me to log in again and see if that helps. I'd also like to know what files are necessary to clear out after uninstalling Provider so it doesn't find any cached data at all. Looks like it's in SQL-Lite files, but I'm not positive.

Thanks for any help anyone can provide!

OK, I was able to track down the login information in the TB password manager. I cleared out what looked to be duplicated entries, re-installed Provider, and then it forced a new login. After the new login, I was able to bring in all my calendars again and now all that should be read-write, are read-write. So unfortunately I don't have a good answer here to resolve this, but after doing enough to clear out cached data it finally worked again.

I am not having the exact issues you had, however I believe that it is an issue with cached passwords.

After the latest update I was prompted for the password of my maing calendar, ever since then it has acted as read only even though it looks to have full read/write access.

Where did you go to delete the cached passwords?  And what OS are you using?

OK.  I figured it out.  I am going to post what I did here to help others who run across this.

I was correct, it was an issue with the cached passwords.  For the calendar i had an issue with there were two saved passwords.  I deleted both, then restarted Thunderbird.  I then was presented with the login prompt for that calendar, provided the information, and everything works fine again.

I do not think the OS matters as Thunderbird gives you access to the passwords.  It did for me anyway, I run Arch Linux as an fyi.

Go to the calendar, Click on the drop down icon, the select preferences>preferences.  That will open a separate dialogue window, go to Security>Passwords.  Click on the 'Saved Passwords' button.  This will bring up an additional window, in this window find your password record(s) for the calendar(s) you are having issues with select each one and delete those records only.  NOTE: you can delete all if you want to put all your passwords back in.  Once you have done this close both windows appropriately, then restart Thunderbird.  When Thunderbird restarts you should get a prompt for the password of the accounts you changed, enter the correct information with the correct settings and you should be done.

Best

Hi Mike,

Thank you for this information.
It solved my problems with non-updating calendars after Thunderbird updated it self to 52.0.1 (32-bit)

In short I removed all cached calendar passwords by searching for calendar in the saved logins page. As shown below.
