Hi,

I have an unusual problem. When I use the Experimental Cache feature
on a calendar thunderbird locks up after 5-10 seconds, even when just
looking at email.

The odd thing is, the provider works fine on the same computer in a
different windows account.

I've tried removing and reinstalling the provider addon but it doesn't
make a difference.

Where is the "setting" to turn off the cache? I can't get to the
calendar to remove the cache feature from the calendar concerned as
Thunderbird locks up before I can change it.

Any ideas where I should be looking to find the cause of the lockup?

I'm using TB 2.0.0.16 and Provider 0.8

Thanks

Youll need an extension like sqlite manager, then you can open the
storage.sdb in your profile and in the cal_properties table you can
disable the cache for that calendar. If you do not have any local
calendars, and you know the urls of all your calendars, you can also
just remove that file (or rename), that will reset all calendars.

I´ve fixed a bug regarding hangs in the latest nightlies, you might
want to give them a try. Note however, nightlies are not considered
stable.

How can I access to that "cal_properties" table? I have the sqlite
manager.

I've recently talked to someone with the same problem and have come up
with an alternative: Start Thunderbird in offline mode (i.e with -
offline argument via commandline), then you should be able to disable
the cache.
