I've been using Lightning for Thunderbird with the Provider for Google Calendar, but if I create a calendar event in TB Lightning Calendar, it doesn't show in my Google calendar
Is there something I have to do to sync calendars?

Thanks
Pete

I have the same problem, from Google to Lightning works but the other way round doesn't. Is there a solution?

Thanks

Dick

Exactly the problem I have. Any event entered into Google Calendar appears in the Lightning Calendar, but any even entered into the Lightning Calendar does not appear in Google Calendar.
Which is not bi-directional

I think I got a solution: New items are made by default in 'General' in stead of in the Google Calendar. Those items are not synced with Google. Choose the gmail account for the calendar item and it is synced.

Thanks for this good tip, but I have another question related to this.
I understand about selecting the proper calendar when creating (or accepting) an event, but for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to change the calendar after accepting an event.
Is this possible and if so, how do I do this?  I have recently accepted a couple of invitations, and they are in my Lightening "home" calendar.  I need to switch these over to my synced Google calendar.

Thanks for any help you can give!
Debbie

Wen you open an event the little window for editing gives in the third line a pulldown menu for category and for agenda. When I have created an event I can always change the Agenda but I don't know if this also works for an accepted event. If not, you could make a copy of the event and put it in the Google calendar.

Hope this works for you

Hi Dick,
Thanks for the tip, but I don't think that this works after you have accepted an invitation (or after you send one).
Happily, I just have a couple of items that I accepted into the wrong calendar - the one that does not sync - so now that I know what to do, I will be OK going forward.

Same non bi-directional problem, but I guess I don't understand your fix. Changed the Home ( there is no General) email account to my gmail account for the google calendar but no soap. what am I doing wrong?

Gentlemen,

I see no option to: "Choose the gmail account for the calendar item and it is synced."  How does one do this? Thanks, Tom

I think I got a solution: New items are made by default in 'General' in stead of in the Google Calendar. Those items are not synced with Google. Choose the gmail account for the calendar item and it is synced.
