Hi,

We use Okta as an SSO provider to our Google Apps accounts.  When trying to set up the calendar provider, the following strangeness occurs:
  1. Select New Calendar -> On the Network
  2. Select Google Calendar
  3. Type in e-mail (@ngs.org)
  4. Log in screen pops up, redirects to okta, and disappears (no rendered content).
  5. Calendar selection screen is completely blank, must cancel.

If you try to repeat the process, the log in screen never pops again until you quit and restart Thunderbird.

  • Thunderbird 31.4.0 (Default Theme, brand-new profile)
  • Lightning 3.3.2
  • Provider for Google Calendar 1.0.3
  • No other extenstions, addons, themes, or plugins.

The following is in the error console:
[calGoogleSessionManager] Reusing session tc...@ngs.org
 ----------
[calGoogleSession] Token expired 1421949032 seconds ago, resetting
 ----------
[calGoogleCalendar] Logging in session tc...@ngs.org
 ----------
[calGoogleCalendar] No access token for tc...@ngs.org, refreshing token
 ----------
[calGoogleSession] Adding item https://www.googleapis.com/tasks/v1/users/@me/lists to queue
 ----------
[calGoogleSession] Adding item https://www.googleapis.com/calendar/v3/users/me/calendarList to queue
 ----------
[calGoogleCalendar] Failed to acquire a new OAuth token for tc...@ngs.org data: { "error": "http_401" }

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Cheers,
Tony

Hi Tony,

the steps you are taking look alright, it seems there is some 401 error on the page presented by Okta. Could you try clearing all entries in the Password Manager that might have to do with Google Calendar, and then try to create the calendar again? I also have an account that uses Okta and haven't experienced any issues.

Hi Philipp,

Strangely enough, and without changing a thing, I tried it again today
and it went through without issue.

Cheers,
Tony
