Hi Philip,

I'm using Thunderbird under Solaris (SPARC and X86) and to have my calendar synchronized with my Google calendar I'm using Lightning and GCP.

While the most of these two add-ons are platform independent. (Meaning Linux implementation/code may run under Solaris.) Lightning requires one architecture specific library (libcalbasecomps.so).

In the good old times I was able to find under contributed mozilla add-ons a Solaris version of Lightning containing the right libcalbasecomps.so .

Since a year this contribution is no longer available and  I helped myself with inserting the shared library from old Lightning versions into the latest Linux release and modifying the libical.manifest file by hand.
This worked for Lightning 2.6.6 and 3.3.1, but I don't know how long I can go this way.

Is there a possibility to get involved in the Lightning development so far that I build the Solaris SPARC and X86 version in our build environment and contribute the Solaris built to the community?

(Sorry didn't find another way to make contact to you.)

Regards,

Karl

That's not true, it works for 2.6.6 but with 3.3.1 and 3.3.2 installation works, but trying to use the calendar ends up with errors like:

[calBackendLoader] Using libical backend at /home/kcb/.thunderbird/eq2s2xup.test/extensions/{e2fda1a4-762b-4020-b5ad-a41df1933103}/components/libical.manifest

So it seems to be urgent to have a new built for Solaris for the new version.
