Hi,

I believe I got my two Google Calendars set up nicely on the Provider
for Google Calendar + Lightning Extensions. Is it known that one can
access more than one Google Calendar on their Lightning? I always
thought you could only access one... so thats why I felt like sharing
that you can actually access multiple calendars.

Thank you for sharing :-)

I'm actually working on making this more obvious by adding a wizard to
allow you to pick your Google Calendars from a list after entering
your user and password.

Note also, you can even add calendars multiple calendars from
different usernames. It is not restricted to only one user.

Oh, so are you a developer of this add-on? Ya, that'd be a very nice
and welcome addition. I seem to be having a bit of trouble however
editing events in Thunberbird and having the changes be reflected in
Google Calendar, especially now that since I'm subcribing to multiple
calendars!?! No big deal really, but It would be cool if that issue
could be addressed.

Another thing I'd really love to see eventually is an addon for
Thundberbird which subscribes to Gmail contacts... I've found a
makeshift LDAP:

But the initial setup is very tedious.

Yes, I am the author of this addon. What sort of problems are you
having? Any errors in the error console? If not, enable
calendar.debug.log in the advanced config editor (see FAQ) and look
for messages there.

This is probably being done by someone else in this years Google
Summer of Code.

That would be really awesome to see. Ya, I'm gonna format my hard
drive this evening, and reinstall Firefox and Thunderbird anyways. I
think my Mozilla profile folders for those applications has got really
junked up and I believe that may be causing conflicts.

I will take a look at that error console for sure, but what I can tell
you now is that I can't edit events in Thunderbird. It's as if they
are read-only, when I've checked that they are not. Editing any events
from Google Calendar is always fine. Google Calendar will trump any
changes made, and they will reflect the next time I reload the
calendars in TB/Lightning. I can add events in Thunderbird and they
will appear on Google Calendar, no problem. Pretty much my only
concern is that I can not edit events from Thunderbird.

The procedure for adding calendars is to just grab the Private XML
link for each calendar, add that as a "Google Calendar" under "On the
network", correct? I've done that for each one. Also, I remember being
able to edit the events from TB, it was only until I started
subscribing to a second calendar that I began noticing conflicts.
Maybe this is responsible for the problem, or some other coincidence.

Hi again, another question I have is if there is a Lightning extension
for Linux. Actually, I know there is, but when I install it, it really
messes up the UI of Thunderbird. It will be nice when TB3 is released
and Lightning, Provider for Google Calendar, and "Provider for Google
Contacts" are pre-bundled.

Is the second calendar on the same account as the first? Do you have
different access rights to the calendars, or are they all your own?

About your question concerning thunderbird, as long as you are using
thunderbird 2 and lightning, you should not have a messed up UI. Be
sure you are using the official thunderbird from mozilla.org and not
icedove or whatnot. Also, if you are using thunderbird 3 you will need
trunk builds, which are currently unsupported by the calendar project.

Depending on what features I have implemented, I will bundle the
provider with lightning, which in turn should be bundled with tb3
release.
