LolaVieGlossing Detangler is a super lightweight spray-on product that does more than just eliminate tangles. Every spray of this detangler has left my hair looking and feeling unbelievably healthy and radiant.
I purchased the shampoo, conditioner, leave-in conditioner, detangler and oil. I am not a fan. I loathe the smell (kinda like beeswax) and it leave my hair limp and greasy looking. I have used the products approximately 6 times and each time I lesson the amount thinking perhaps I used too much and that would account for the appearance. Didn't matter. My much cheaper hair products did a much better job. I wasted my money and will not purchase again.
I agree -- these products are terrific! I have short hair so only use the leave-in conditioner and even my hairdresser noticed the difference in the health of my hair after a month of using it. And my first bottle lasted me over a year! (I only need one pump per wet head. I checked my purchase and I bought it 1/12/22 and literally just finished that first bottle this morning -- so that is nearly 17 months!) Cheers to a great project -- and thank you Megan for all your good reviews. I really value your advice.
Sure! I have had mine for years so I don't think they sell that model anymore but this is the most similar in style and price. I LOVE it. Also, if you're not in a rush for one SOMETIMES Nordstrom includes them in their Anniversary sale in the summer. I always share them when they do :)
As a curly, its hard to find products that work for my hair. I am curious to know if you are following and curly methods for your girls--I VERY loosely follow because there is definitely no one size fits all. I really didn't know I had curls until about 3 years ago, always just thought I had severe frizz (I'm 51). You've made it sound pretty enticing. Thanks for the review.
I just ordered both! Too bad ya' don't get some credit for this, but funny thing I trust you completely (sometimes need to remember that you do not actually KNOW me! but I am assuming that's the vibe you are going for!). Thank you for all the hard work you do! Have a fantastic day!
After trying other brands (including Ethique, byHumankind, 100 Senses, Habitat Botanicals and others) and being mostly underwhelmed (especially in the conditioner bar category), I wrote a blog post reviewing them. And I went on evangelizing for HiBAR in real life, starting with my cousin Mary in Maui.
In addition to Earthling Co. using mostly organic ingredients where possible (meaning, for their plant-based ingredients), they have two meaningful certifications that HiBAR lacks:
It takes experimentation to find better, more sustainable products that use less plastic and that you actually like. They might not be the first ones you try (or even the ones your favorite blogger tries).
(And FYI, there used to be a code, but I had problems with it being posted on spammy discount sites, which is against my terms with Earthling. So they made it so that the discount now just applies automatically through the links.)
Or, for some other options that are moisturizing, but might not be as overkill as Fox Island, I really like Everist (a nice compromise between bars and regular, liquid shampoo & conditioner, which I reviewed here), and Hibar makes a nice moisturizing set, as well as a sensitive skin/dandruff specific set that might be good for you.
Great review of the Earthling Shampoo and Conditioner bars. I started using these products about three years ago, in part because of their advantage when traveling (no worries about liquids when having a carry-on). They work really well on my thick, coarse, and gray hair. I only shampoo my hair twice a week, so I really appreciate the lather of the shampoo bar-my hair feels really clean afterwards. And the conditioners are excellent.
Hi ive tried a fair few shampoo bars myself but my recent ones were ethique which seriously dried my hair out ?
kitch left me in a greasy mess ? and the most recent was viori unscented shampoo and conditioner bars now this did make my hair soft but gave me big painfull spots on my scalp and made it itch tempted to go back to bottled shampoo at this point ?
100% Pure is a clean beauty brand that uses 100% pure ingredients in their formulations & uses their brand to educate consumers on the importance of choosing clean & safe products to ultimately better our health & lives! They take pride in being sustainable, using natural pigments, being cruelty free, & transparent about ingredient sourcing which I can definitely appreciate. 100% Pure is also involved in a variety of philanthropy work & has multiple charitable partnerships worldwide!
Overall, they are definitely a brand you can feel good about supporting as a consumer. And rest assured, their ingredients are some of the cleanest out there, which takes away from any guesswork on your end trying to navigate lengthy ingredient lists & wondering if an ingredient is good or bad! 100% Pure offers a variety of beauty & personal care products all formulated in line with strict purity standards & free of harmful or questionable ingredients. Something that does stand out about their product offerings is that their makeup or anything with a pigment, is derived from either fruit, vegetables, tea, or cocoa to avoid questionable colorants & traces of heavy metals. With that said, 100% Pure offers a full makeup collection, including nail polishes & makeup brushes, a variety of skincare products, hair, hand, bath, & body products.
I was really excited about trying the Burdock & Neem Healthy Scalp Shampoo & Conditioner especially due to the claims of it benefiting dry & itchy scalps, which I tend to have. This shampoo & conditioner duo is designed to purify the scalp, unclog pores, & stimulate circulation to promote healthy hair growth. The ingredients (which I go into a little bit below), were chosen to help alleviate dryness, itching, & flaking of the scalp, while also helping to hydrate & replenish thirsty hair.
Rest assured that 100% Pure does not use any synthetic or artificial fragrances or parfums in their formulas. All fragrance scents are visibility listed in the ingredients on the back of the bottles & on the website. Fragrance transparency is something I always look for when purchasing products.
Earlier this year I declared that my favorite nomad hack was my discovery of concentrated beauty bars, specifically conditioner bars, that work for my type of curly hair. I was looking for a solution to carrying around liquids since I board airplanes semi-often.
So it was time to try my new discovery pack! First I tried the Rustic Citrus & Earthy Deodorant Stick since I was very curious how it would perform. I used the deodorant in the mini heart form above instead of the large, solid stick below that it usually comes in and I found that at least the heart version left behind a lot of residue after I used it.
Next I wanted to try a shampoo that seemed to fit my hair needs since the Conditioner Bar was such a smashing success so I picked up the Frizz Wrangler Shampoo Bar for dry hair. It costs $16 and works for up to 80 uses.
In summary, the Too Delicious Conditioner Bar is still amazing. My hair is noticeably softer than before I started using it and it helps shape my curls when I use it as a leave in. I used to use a liquid leave in and gel to get that effect, but now I just need this bar that doubles as my conditioner. Sensational.
So those are my thoughts on the products I tried, but now I want to discuss another aspect of this company that I discovered. As background, I worked in Marketing my whole career and at times was involved in Email Marketing. As a result, one of my biggest pet peeves is deceptive marketing practices.
Hi! In 2015 I started this blog and hatched a plan to retire in 10 years at 35. With the help of decreased spending, increased wages, and geoarbitrage I reached my goal in half the time and retired in 2020 at age 30. This blog catalogs my journey to and through early retirement.
Over the next month or two I started seeing subtle changes that made my skeptical mind wonder. My HAIRLINE seemed fuller- my HAIR seemed fuller- and I was obsessed with how it felt. So many of the testimonials I have seen are from new moms who had major hair loss and needed something to fix it pronto. I see now why they rave about these products. I have NEW hair growth and my hair is starting to look the way it did in high school.
Renew Shampoo: After you clarify your hair with the volume line your second wash should be with a shampoo that will add moisture. Renew does just that. Adding this into my routine took my hair health to another level.
IRT Conditioner: As mentioned above, your hair will be pretty knotty in the beginning. This conditioner makes that so much more manageable. You need a small amount and then you will be able to comb through like a champ. It also helps thicken your hair immensely!
I just started monat but I am losing hair. I used the volume shampoo, first the growth shampoo but not fully and I barely use the conditioner as my hair is thin and already oil. However, my hair has never been shedding so bad. I am so worried. Do I use the conditioner more and try just one product full or stop? I have the the oil product too, I used wayyy more than one drop? is that it? I am literally losing it as I tried these products because my hair has always been thin. Please help and if I do have to stop using if you think, what other shampoo can I try? I have to shower every other day cause my hair gets so oily fast. Please help
Fast forward, and I am dying my hair a lot less, opting for touch-up highlights or half head foils. My hair is so healthy, hardly splits and feels soft and lush. I put a good part of this down to the fact that I use my Olaplex as my main shampoo! I use this usually once per week, and alternate every second or third time with a purple shampoo. I have to say I swear by this shampoo and highly recommend it if you have dyed (and especially blonde) hair.
