I have a 7zip password protected folder with several also password protected pdf files with selective sync unchecked, (double protection and not in the Dropbox folder in my PC). I cannot open them with the dsektop app, buy they can be opened from my android smartphone without having to download, just download and install the RAR app from Google play. it works fine!! It's a pity that Dropbox doesn't provide this option for the Dropbox desktop App.

I have an Excel file that is password protected. When I log in to the account from the computer and try to open the file, I click on it but there is no option or access to type the password to open the file. This only happens on the account from the computer and not on the account from the mobile phone (where I have the option to type in the file password). I click on the blue "Open" button and then click on the link to Excel - and it shows me an error message and does not give access to typing the password of the file. As a result, I currently do not have any access to the file from my computer. How can I solve this ??

Attached is a link to the page I see, immediately after I click the "Open" button of the encrypted Excel file. As mentioned, I have no option to type in my password and open the file I encrypted. I would be very grateful if you could help me!

Can you be more specific?

What does it mean to open Excel from your computer?

When I click on the Excel file on the Dropbox site - I get the error message.

Can you explain exactly what I need to do to open the encrypted file from the site itself?

DocuSign eSignature does not password protect documents when you download them. There is no option to configure something like this in DocuSign eSignature. Therefore, this must be something you have setup locally on your machine and unrelated to DocuSign. Maybe you installed a browser extension or something else on your computer recently, which automatically applies a password due some kind of automation?

Using a different PDF reader makes sense anyway, as Preview is not able to validate the signatures in the PDF document and you are not able to see if the document was tampered with or not. Hence Adobe Acrobat Reader or a different PDF software is usually standard even on Mac devices and recommended to be used.

I apologize for the inconvenience, we are committed to providing you with the best service possible. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, I understand that when you download an envelope, the envelope is password protected.

I noticed that there are tickets already created for this on our system a potential solution is to create a case with Docusign support and confirm with the support agent if by modifying an option at the backend called DSS: EnableIText the issue on your account will be fixed.

The case is needed because the account Admin needs to authenticate the account, and that contains Private Identifiable Information that cannot be disclosed in this public forum, Open a case in the Docusign Support Center.

Note: Some advanced features and options are supported only in specific Docusign plans. Your account plan might not support some options discussed in this help topic. Contact your account administrator for more information about which options are available for your account. Or, visit our Plans and Pricing web page for more details on the features included with your plan. Compare eSignature plans & pricing.

Having the same issue since a last couple months or since updating the OS. this is really frustrating as using preview and docusign made my job much easier. Now I got pw protected documents all the time i can no longer edit myself or my clients. This is adding more time than I save now.

I apologize for the inconvenience, we are committed to providing you with the best service possible. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, to clarify based on your description is this happening to all of your envelopes?

I'm facing a challenge and could use some advice from this community. I have a password protected RAR file that I need to access, but unfortunately, I don't have the password for it. I'm currently using Windows 11, and I'm wondering if there's any way to extract the contents of this RAR file without the password.

Please try the password you are using frequently. There is no limit to test the password and no damage to the original rar file. In short, you can only extract the content from a protected rar file unless the password is entered correctly.

@Blindosaa Extracting a RAR file without a password on a Windows 11 PC can be challenging, especially if the file is protected with a strong encryption method. Here are some methods you might consider.

Lastly, There are software tools available that claim to recover or crack RAR file passwords. These tools typically use methods like brute force (trying all possible combinations), dictionary attacks (using a pre-defined list of potential passwords), or more advanced cryptographic attacks.

PassFab for RAR uses advanced algorithms to quickly and effectively recover passwords, boasting a success rate of up to 95%. The software supports all RAR file versions, including RAR3 and RAR5, and offers three different recovery modes - Brute-force Attack, Brute-force with Mask Attack, and Dictionary Attack - to help recover the password in the most efficient way possible. and it offers a user-friendly interface, making it ideal for both novice and advanced users.

RAR Password Unlocker has a user-friendly interface that makes it easy to use, even for people with no technical knowledge. It supports all versions of RAR files and is compatible with Windows operating systems. However, it's worth noting that this software may be illegal or unethical to use in certain circumstances (such as attempting to break into someone else's password-protected files).

2. Use built-in Windows compression tool: Windows 11 has a built-in compression tool that can handle certain types of archives, including ZIP files. However, it does not natively support RAR files. If the RAR file contains only non-password-protected files, you might be able to change the file extension from .rar to .zip. Then, try using the built-in tool to extract the files. Remember, this method will only work if the RAR file is not password-protected.

Sharing you 3 solutions tp extract a RAR file without password on Windows 11 computer:

iSeePassword Dr.RAR uses advanced algorithms and brute-force techniques to recover and unlock RAR archives that are password-protected. It supports all versions of RAR files, including RAR 3.x, 4.x, and 5.x. The program uses multi-core CPU processing and GPU acceleration to speed up the password recovery process. Source here:

The software is easy to use and comes with a user-friendly interface, enabling even novice users to recover RAR passwords with ease. It provides options to customize the password search criteria, such as the length of the password, possible character sets, and more. This is the best software for me personally.

7-Zip supports a wide range of file formats, including 7z, ZIP, GZIP, TAR, and RAR. It is also capable of extracting many other file formats, including ISO and DMG disk images. The software uses the LZMA and LZMA2 compression algorithms, which are known for their high compression ratio and efficient use of system resources, and extract files without the need for additional software. The software is free to use and can be downloaded and installed on Windows operating systems without any limitations.

Extract.me is an online file decompression tool that allows users to extract files from compressed archives without having to install any software on their devices. The platform supports a wide range of archive file formats, including ZIP, RAR, 7Z, TAR, GZIP, and more. The platform is entirely free to use and does not require any registration or sign-up. However, there are limitations to the size and number of files that can be uploaded and extracted per day, depending on the pricing plan chosen.
