طارق چو بر کناررۂ اندلس سفینہ سوخت
گفتند کار تو بہ نگاہ خرد خطاست

دوریم از سواد وطن باز چون رسیم
ترک سبب ز روی شریعت کجا رواست

خندید و دست خویش بشمشیر برد و گفت
ہر ملک ملک ماست کہ ملک خدای ماست

 GOD’S Land

When Tariq burned his boats on Andalusia’s coast,
His men observed, "It was an unwise thing to do.

We are so far from home; how shall we now return ?
Foregoing means is wrong in the Divine Law’s view."

He laughed and, putting his hand on his sword, declared:
"All lands are God’s and they are all our homeland too."
