It was agreed at our last meeting that finding a space (any space?) is a critical step. There are a few units available at 245 Duckworth:

424 sq. ft. at $584/mo
200 sq. ft at $ 274/mo
482 sq. ft at $662 /mo
887 sq. ft at $1222 /mo

These prices include operating costs (heating/lighting/taxes). The extras would be HST and business tax. The lease offered is for 12 months.

Although they are not ground floor, I think it might be a good I idea to check it out. I have arranged with Des Sullivan, the landlord, to meet at the building next Tuesday at 7pm (after our regular meeting). Hopefully 2 or 3 people will be able to join me.

Hi David,

Yes, we should concurrently visit anything else that is on our radar.  Does anyone have contact information for another location and want to arrange a time?

Regarding Duckworth, I am getting a good sense of being in that area of town. Central, good vibe with arts community.  Among other things, there is the Anna Templeton Centre in the same neighbourhood. Here's a possible vision: have our "home base" at 245 Duckworth, and rent out larger space at the Anna Templeton Centre when needed for public events. It doesn't match my initial vision of a barren, large, warehouse type space out in an industrial park -- but maybe this could be better for building the community.

James

I agree with James that a downtown location would be very helpful, and
the prices for Duckworth seem quite reasonable. While we might one
day move in to a larger space outside of downtown, our main focus
right now is getting a space that will help us bring in people and let
us start setting up equipment.
