We're looking for descriptive text to introduce PROTOSHED to a) potential members and b) other groups/agencies.
Here is an example for discussion:
Protoshed Community Workshop gathers people interested in computers, technology, RC devices, robotics, light fabrication and making functional items into a shared workspace. Protoshed is a non-profit organization open to the general public. We look to share skills and tools (or 'knowledge and resources') thus enabling people (members?) to build and make ideas into reality.
This is a new group still in the development stage. We are seeking creative people interested in setting up this space. Come, get involved in our weekly meetings, on-line discussions and active efforts to:
~ Find a suitable space
~Develop a tools list, especially specialized fabrication equipment
as well as soldering, wood-working...
~Determine the needs and expections within our community
Protoshed is membership driven for funding and volunterr efforts. This is an extensive effort and we welcome sponsors interested in providing this innovative, exciting enviroment for the Southern Avalon region.
This is a draft- input please! I researched hackerspaces, makers faires etc on-line to see how other groups descibed themselves. While the Berlin hackerspace (C-BASE) has a great space station myth, I'm offering a text to reflect our current start-up stage rather than an established site. We could add other text to customize our message depending on audience. For example- Are you a back-yard inventor but don't have a SHED?...
