Hi! I volunteer with the Homebrew project, and one of our users noticed that their from-source build failed checksum, it being different from the stored checksum of the tarball we used for our public bottle build, very soon after this release: https://github.com/orgs/Homebrew/discussions/6476

Was the tarball re-released? If so, what were the incorporated changes?

Thanks much!

Best Regards,
Adrian

Thanks for reaching out Adrian.

This is an unfortunate quirk of our release process where the BCR release depends on the tar, but also we unfortunately the 'final' released tar should have an update related to that BCR release. The actual source of the Protobuf runtimes did not have any behavior patches applied in between. We had an unusually long gap between the initial and updated step for this release, which made this problem more visible.

We recognize this is an undesirable property of the release artifacts, and we're going to try to mitigate that better from happening in our future releases.
