Don't know if anyone else is having this issue. Bought the pass months ago for both isle of armor and crown tundra. Now that the game has downloaded the crown tundra expansion, not only can i not go to the tundra (i bought the pass in the eshop but dont have the tundra pass in my inventory), but i now also cant go back to the isle of armor despite still having the pass for the isle of armor. Cant fly there, cant take a train there. Nothing.
Neither my data nor profile are corrupted, but if I had to guess, its an issue with the eshop not working correctly and letting me have access to my expansion that I've already paid for.If I go to the shop, it says I have purchased it, and i can download the update, but it doesnt seem to let me have access to either Isle of Armor or Crown tundra now.
The addition of Expansion Pass was to replace the need for a third version or sequel of Sword and Shield.[4] It is set in the snowy southern area called the Crown Tundra, based on Scotland, in Sword and Shield's region of Galar. The player controls the protagonist during their journey through the tundra, home to old legendary Pokémon from past games as well as some new legendary Pokémon.
The location the expansion pack is set is one inter-connected "Wild Area", a free-roaming open world with a free moving camera and dynamic weather, which has implications on which Pokémon species appear at a given time. The defining of The Crown Tundra are the Dynamax Adventures. The player must travel to an area in the tundra called the Max Lair, where they can be given rental Pokémon to battle through three different Max raid battles.[5] After beating a Pokémon, the player can choose which path to choose next. After battling each raid Pokémon, the player must battle a Legendary Pokémon from previous games. The player can choose to catch the Legendary Pokémon, which have a 100% chance of being caught, or they can choose to leave it, losing out on the chance to catch another one if they decide to catch it.[6][7] These Dynamax Adventures can be played online or single player, and are included as a part of the story.[8] The other big feature for the DLC are Galarian Star Tournaments, which are tournaments where the player and one other character of the player's choice engage in Multi-trainer battles with other characters from Sword & Shield and the expansion pass.[9]
The player arrives at the tundra via train from the town of Wedgehurst.[22] Upon arriving, the player encounters two new faces, Pokémon trainer Peony and his daughter Peonia. After the pair have a dispute on where they would like to go, the player battles Peony who is revealed to be a former Steel-type gym leader and Champion before Chairman Rose, his criminal brother, becomes league head. Peonia uses the battle as cover to escape, and after the battle, Peony chases after her into the Max Lair.[23] The player is forced to follow Peony into the Max Lair and take part in a Dynamax Adventure, in which they cannot use their Pokémon (so that they don't go berserk due to the Galar particles inside the Max Lair). After clearing it, Peonia approaches the player and requests they take her place in her father's "adven-tour". Peony, whilst reluctant, comes to accept the situation. The player and Peony set up their base in the town of Freezington, with Peony appointing the player as the expedition chief who does the exploring while he holds down the fort.
In the next adventure, the player tracks down and catches the Legendary Pokémon Regirock, Regice, and Registeel at ruins across the tundra. Once all three have been caught, the player can access the Split-Decision Ruins, a fused pair of ruins that house either Regieleki or Regidrago, depending on the pattern they enter in the ruins, and catch it as well.[26] The player can only catch one of the two. Additionally, the player can battle and obtain a Regigigas in a Max raid if they interact with a specific Max raid den with all five other Regi Pokémon in their party.[27] In the third adventure, the player encounters the Galarian Forms of the Legendary birds under a massive tree on Dyna Tree Hill, but the sound of the player's Rotom Phone going off alerts them, and they scatter across the region, becoming roaming Pokémon. Catching all of them and reporting the findings to Peony concludes the adventure.[28]
Is this still possible or has this been patched out or whatever? Last time I played i was able to do it but wanting to start new save file on my shield and go from there with legendaries. Because is it fun to have level 70 pokemon take out level 10 pokemon in first gym in one easy shot yes yes it is fun and it is wrong of me to feel the power haha.
I was hoping that the reward for completing the new Pokedex would be a new shiny charm that improves shiny odds in Dynamax adventures. It is not. They give you a new League Card bling, a crown, 50 rare candies and 3 gold bottle caps.
Now, let's be honest, Pokémon Sword and Shield is easily one of the worst looking first-party Nintendo games on the Switch. At the very least, I love the look of this tundra. It's very snowy, yes, but that doesn't mean it feels repetitive. There's a good variety of views, from frosty fields to chilly mountain slopes. There's lush green areas, too, that don't feel out of place and add some diversity to the environment and fauna.
The fauna I speak of is Pokémon, and this expansion was so sought after for this very reason. The Pokédex is once more expanded upon with more of past entries' favorites. Me personally, I was extremely excited to see the return of Spheal, who has been my number one Pokémon since 2003. Still, if you're like me, you will be disappointed to find that too many other pocket monsters were left out. The inclusion of new Pokémon is nice and severely needed, but the variety felt lacking and sparse. Wherever I went, I was hoping to find a lot more Pokémon from past generations, but I found that a lot of the inhabitants of this tundra were ones I've already caught.
Regirock is located Northeast of Dyna Tree Hill and in order to open the door the first pokemon in your party must be holding an Everstone. If you need an Everstone, I got mine in Turrfield. When you head there, go behind the poke-center and you will see a hidden item gleaming on the rocks.
I think its underated i checked the user review score on metacritic the other day and it was 9.9 out of 10. Last time of checking it was 9.1 user score. So the public like it. I just got a minkaya and i can't use it in ranked battles but it is what is with that. But i do have access to a pokemon with a 3 turn deathmove called jinx. what this does it kills a pokemon in 3 turns unless the pokemon switches out which it can't if it your rivals last one, the only downside is the jinx is destroyed in 3 moves also. But enough about jinx this game is amazing and what pokemon should have been. And i can't use jinx in online battles either. But its is still an amazing game and hopefully i can get a killer online team up soon.
Really not sure how the same reviewer preferred Isle of Armour over this tbh. The content here was far better and more rewarding than raising a pokemon up to level 70 and picking a tower to explore. The story was far more engaging and interesting and the area, while a little confusing, more interesting to explore. I do agree it's an aging design though but I don't see the core gameplay ever changing whilst there is a competitive scene attached to raising pokemon. The fanboys would lose it.
