Hi there,

Anyone know how to find or calculate the isolation interference in MaxQuant? I found a column called PIF (precursor ion fraction) on the file evidence.txt. Is that something I can use to calculate the % isolation interference?

thank you for your help.
cheers,
Nikiana

Hi, Nikiana,

according to MaxQuant tables description (one can find it in results folder with the name table.pdf), PIF "indicates the fraction the target peak makes up of the total intensity in the inclusion window". So it is the value complementary to isolation interference - all ion current not due to target peak is interference. In more direct way, PIF is 1 - Isolation_interference.

Best regards,
Vladimir
