Dear Colleagues :

As a Professor of Neurology and a Microbiologist , I  have had a long interest in
infections of the Brain and Nervous System.  In recent years I have been working on various aspects of Lyme Disease, especially Neurological Lyme Disease or Neuroborreliosis in which the victim suffered from issues of Brain Fog, Cognition, and Language impairment..

In recent months the literature has cited cases of Long COViD in which individuals who had tested negative for the carriage of COVID Virions but had experienced a variety of lingering effects in different anatomical areas of their body after the acute stage of this virus infection had disappeared.

As in the cases of Neurological Lyme Disease, Long COVID Patients also suffered from Brain Fog, Cognition and Language impairments that they did not have prior to their encounter with Infection.  In many cases of Long COVID victims were not able to return to their normal occupations( a personal friend who is a Professor of English at SUNY is still on extended sick leave due to Long COVID related Brain Fog, Cognition and Language impairment ).

Please find enclosed as an attachment a British Report on  Neurological Long COVID  associated with lingering issues vis a vis Language and Cognition issues..
