"we observed unprecedented deteriorating effects of androgen deprivation, in which surgical castration ...  accelerated disease progression of the otherwise stable HG-PIN to invasive castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC)"

"these data have revealed the potential adverse effects of antiandrogen chemoprevention in certain genetic contexts (such as PTEN loss)

Well thank goodness my Onco ruled out MDV3100 for me !

Prostate cancer is an exceptionally heterogenous disease. What is good for one man may not be so kind on the next. Be sure to research and test any new supplement or treatment before adopting it - and in any case run it past a medically qualified person for a second opinion.

Sam, why did he say he ruled it out?  And Good for you..

I think ours said MDV3100 works early on and is less effective when it’s active.

Also, one guy on another group got thrown off because he recommended people doing Provenge not do it close to doing chemo, prednisone, radiation or any other immune lowering protocol.

He said the docs didn’t know how to use it to the best of its effectiveness.  It is an immune enhancer and should be allowed for at least 6 months to help boost the immune system, when done near chemo etc etc.. it dilutes it, he claims this is why it hasn’t had the success it could..

Just an FYI for further investigation, not to take my or his word for it..
