Well done ! I wish only you had a bit more history to put this fantastic success in context of the many different prostate cancer scenarios that men face before and after diagnosed. [ e.g: dob, date Dx, bPSA, T_number(s); G_number(s) (you have given this thanks); soft tissue/hard tissue involvement;  preliminary treatment (e.g. WW), primary treatment(e.g. Lupron 2 years); focussed beam & brachytherAPY (e.g. before / after Lupron). secordary  tertiary treatment where appropriate.

It seems like a bind. But then when you have done it once you can save it as a signature. I am still putting mine togethert after 16 years. If I knew then what I knew now I could honestly say there would be no prostate cancer in my life.

Be careful of the estrogen creeping up. Try to stay lean - best way is exersise. Good luck !

dob.1947; LUTS.1995;"unremarkable"noDx; 1996.DxG4,3; no bone mets visible; age49.Zoladex.pre-op; bPSA50+RP LN+SV; histology G(3+4);1998.rising PSA,RT68Gy; "0 PSA" never achievable hence Intermittent therafter.

I'll see if I can attach a graph of the early years. News Flash!  Just dug out  data  for 1993 This is a random PSA reading years before official diagnosis. Just shows how important serial screening for PSA is (until something more definitive comes along). Don't throw the baby out with the bath water.

I am the guy who was a 4+5 Gleason. Two years of lupron, 5-weeks of focused beam, and brachytherapy.

My urologist moved away and the new one suggested testerone shots to improve energy level and restore sexual function.

I had 300 units three times, every other week, and my testosterone level has gone from 0.0 last month to 1300 last week. He reduced the dosage to 200 units yesterday.

Result, I can't say I have a lot more energy, but calf cramps have completely stopped. I have no E.D. now, and I have even experienced an orgasm (the first in two years).

He says that he will measure the T level & estrogen (which went from 11 to 67) bi-weekly. But, the PSA level only every six months.

So far, I am pleased.

Please recognise that Prostate Cancerhas different guises and needs different levels of treatment and in some cases no treatment at all. Some men even with all options offered chose radical options that you would not choose. We only ask that people be informed before choice is made, we cannot and should not tell other members what to do, other than look at other options.
