An Update On Active Surveillance + Advanced Treatment + Proton Therapy
The 2017 Mid-Year Update, held at the Marina del Rey, Marriott on Saturday, March 25 2017, is a unique education experience for prostate cancer patients and caregivers - featuring in-depth presentations from leading doctors, followed by interactive Q+A sessions and moderated by Mark Moyad, MD. Our first featured speaker, Carl Rossi, MD, the leading expert in proton therapy from Scripps Proton Therapy Center, will be giving a presentation about the current state of radiation therapy, intensity modulated proton therapy, re-radiating after failed radiation, and more. Additionally, Robert Dreicer, MD, a world renowned oncologist, will be discussing the latest treatments for advanced prostate cancer - immune therapy, hormone therapy, chemotherapy, clinical trials, and much more. PCRI's Executive Director, Mark Scholz, MD, will discussing active surveillance for men with newly diagnosed cancer and will cover issues that surround a new diagnosis, from imaging scans and biopsies, to genetic testing.
