Automobilista2 is a motorsport racing simulator game created by Reiza Studios, under the lead of Renato Simioni.[1] The game was initially released as an Early Access title on March 31, 2020, via Steam, with the official V1.0 release taking place on June 30, 2020.[2] Automobilista 2 features a wide variety of cars and tracks. Its main focus is on Brazilian content, which includes licensed Brazilian racing series such as Stock Car Brazil and Copa Truck. There is also an emphasis on Formula racing cars of many different eras, and includes licensed and generic vehicles. Other racing classes represented in Automobilista 2 include, but are not limited to: Retro touring cars, 1990s American open-wheel cars, GT3 and karts.[3] Automobilista 2 supports VR, triple screen and full motion racing simulator setups.
Automobilista 2 has a total of 59 track locations with 189 layouts, including historic configurations.[4][5] The game supports virtual reality (VR) gameplay.[6] The game has a combined total of 175 cars, including downloadable content.[7]
Automobilista 2 is built on the Madness engine, developed by Slightly Mad Studios for the Project CARS series. Automobilista 2 inherited the Seta tyre model, which is a physical tyre model. The Seta tyre model simulates the carcass, the tread and the heat of the tyre, which allows for a wide variety of tyres to be simulated with realistic handling properties.[8] Automobilista 2 also features Livetrack 3.0, which allows for dynamic simulation of the race track's surface. This includes the 'rubbering in' and heating/cooling effects as vehicles drive over the racetrack, and allows for simulation of rain and puddles to affect the track depending on its geometry.[9]
Automobilista 2 includes several improvements over Project CARS 2 in terms of vehicle physics, force feedback, audio, and the implementation of Livetrack 3.0. Automobilista 2 allows players to select any date and time between the present and 1979, and the game will automatically feature climatic conditions, such as temperature, wind, and rainfall, as it was at the time.[10] These conditions affect the vehicle handling in a realistic way.[11] The trackside foliage will also adjust, depending on time of year chosen.

The official Reiza Studios Forum is a great resource for information. If you are struggling with setting up a specific piece of hardware or want a detailed understanding of what each setting does, that information will be available via the Forum.
Moving on to optional assignments, for maximum authenticity assign buttons for Ignition, Start Engine, Headlights, and Windscreen Wipers. These can be automated via gameplay options when you eventually return to the main menu. You can also assign a Launch Control button that may come in handy for getting off the line well in certain vehicles.
And if you want to watch it all back, make sure you remember to save the replay. To do this, complete the race (or skip to the end if you have retired) and view the replay. There should be a save button that appears in the top left next to the photo mode option.
Congratulations, your base AMS 2 experience is now set up and ready to go! Of course, everything in this article comes down to opinion and personal preference but hopefully, it has helped you get more out of this game than you might have otherwise. If you want to take things further in future, there are plenty of routes you can take with time and research.
Fancy some enhanced visuals? Have a look into filtering and ReShade. The game is also moddable, albeit not to the extent of many of its rivals. And finally, if you like ranked online racing that has a little more to it than the simplified in-game system, there are third-party ranked racing services out there for you to discover.
The latest installment for the Xbox faithful is Forza Horizon 5 from Playground Games and Xbox Game Studios. Set in Mexico, Horizon 5 players will race, drive, and explore the vast environment laid out in front of them. Collect and enjoy the numerous vehicles included within.
Side note: This is not the native Xbox Series X version of the game with the enhanced lighting and online features, but simply the Xbox One/PC release, which runs at a high frame rate when played on a Xbox Series X.
The always-online open-world environment where you could choose to race against other people or not at the hit of one button still feels fresh. The constant reward loop of beating your friends on the leaderboards for single-player challenges is something that is now commonplace in gaming.
It was almost too good, as EA placed developer Criterion on its Need for Speed franchise to try and meld the Burnout gameplay with the urban street racer vibez of its most popular car-based franchise.
The game was effectively split into two timelines. One as a racer, trying to evade the police, then a second as the police trying to track down racers. Upgrade paths for the racer point of view included radar jammers, whereas on the police side the aim was to build up more deterrent equipment. This made for some entertaining online battles if you had an evenly weighted group of friends. Fun at the time, but something like the three-year older Need for Speed Hot Pursuit has held up better with time.
The initial remaster in 2020 was the lightest of rehashes, but then the game received a 4K and 60 frames per second update in February 2021 for Xbox Series X (and PS5) owners so you can finally relive those high-speed escapades in the smoothest fashion ever.
It repurposes cars and tracks from the three previous games, delivered a slight visual update and added a new career structure. While it could be fun, the career felt hollow and the handing was awry, with now-infamous instant-spn kerbing.

It's a shame that many racing fans aren't talking about Lego 2K Drive much. Sure, the live-service trappings and the lazy rubber banding of the AI can distract players. However, those who can ignore these issues will realize how much fun it really is to play through an imaginative arcade racer with excellent track design.
Taking shortcuts and bamboozling the opposition makes Lego 2K Drive an underrated racer that more people need to check out. Games like this are a great example of why the live service model shouldn't be slapped onto every game in sight. This label has hurt the long-term interest in this arcade racer quite a bit.
Most people were pleasantly surprised to see the wealth of quality on display in Hot Wheels Unleashed. Despite some progression issues, the game's take on toy car racing was a blast. The game's breakneck speeds can even cause these vehicles to fly off the tracks.
So, fans were interested in seeing what Hot Wheels Unleashed 2: Turbocharged brought to the table, and they weren't disappointed. Featuring more moves and better track design than before, the sequel to Hot Wheels Unleashed is a worthy arcade racer. It addresses a lot of issues players had in the first game and adds some interesting elements of its own to keep players engaged.
DreamWorks is a studio that has been through its fair share of ups and downs, but there's no denying that the characters from their movies are iconic. So, the idea of playing a kart racing game featuring many beloved characters from their films is quite engrossing.
DreamWorks All-Star Kart Racing has its fair share of issues, but fans of this studio's work will be able to ignore the vast majority of these problems. The racing is simple and engaging, which is great for players who want to enjoy a title that doesn't feature too many complicated mechanics.
Project CARS 3 has no doubt had its critics since it was released into the wild back in August 2020. Many feel that the two previous versions are the better games in the series. The third Project CfARS game changed a lot that made the franchise so successful in the first place, but Project CARS 3 is still an enjoyable racing game.
There aren't many arcade racing games out there, and players will take what they can get at this point. However, it's not necessary to lower one's standards to check out such a racing game. Inertial Drift completely changes the mechanics of how a race works to make for a truly breathtaking time.
