W
2nd St project
A two-way protected bike lane will be constructed on the north side of W 2nd St
from the B-Line to S Walker St (connecting the B-Line Trail with the multi-use
path on the north side of W 2nd Str/W Bloomfield Rd). Additionally, the two
existing traffic signals at the intersections of W 2nd St & S Rogers St and
W 2nd St & S Walker St will be replaced and modernized. New storm sewer and
drainage improvements will be installed throughout the corridor. Accessible
sidewalks, curb ramps, and bus stops will also be provided along the full
length of the project corridor.
Construction is anticipated to begin in 2025. This project supports the Hopewell Master Plan, Building Trades Park Master Plan, and was prioritized by the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO). Please visit the project website for more information regarding the project and to submit feedback.
Hopewell
The public meeting will also include an overview of progress at Hopewell and plans for continued development in 2024.
3. Mark your calendars for Monday, April 8, the full solar eclipse. The First Church of the Nazarene will host an event on their parking lot to view the eclipse. We are working on food vendors and activities. The four-minute eclipse will begin at 3:04 pm, but the partial eclipse will begin at 1:49 and end at 4:22. In short, don't plan to do too many other things that afternoon. We expect a huge crowd in Bloomington.
