Hi, all,
And happy Friday evening. As mentioned further below, our YouTube broadcast premiere of “Down with Love: Battle of the Exes” launches Sunday, Oct. 12 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern.
We invite you to join us for great tunes from opera, Broadway, and the Great American Songbook as we watch two feuding exes thrown together by their booking manager to perform at a concert. Enjoy fantastic songs like “So in Love,” “It Never Entered My Mind,” and “I Get Along without You Very Well” as Lilly and Frank face off. We’ll also share information on the great work happening at Fairview Elementary School and ways you can support their vital student programs.

Subject: "Down with Love" YouTube Broadcast, Sun. 10/12!
Dear colleagues, friends, and neighbors,
We can’t keep it a secret any longer – we are less than a week away from the YouTube broadcast launch of our fifteenth annual concert! Down with Love: Battle of the Exes in Broadway, Opera and the Great American Songbook will premiere on the Richard Lewis Opera and Broadway Channel on Sunday, October 12 at 4:00 p.m. Eastern.
If you missed our August 24 live performance – or just want to see it again in a three-camera format and custom audio mix – please join the broadcast of our program featuring great tunes by Harold Arlen, Cole Porter, Rodgers & Hart, and Bloomington’s own Hoagy Carmichael. Our romantic comedy focuses on two feuding exes who show up to perform at the same gala operatic concert, brought together by their booking manager who has a secret of his own. Bloomington baritone Richard Lewis is joined by colleagues from Pittsburgh, Baton Rouge, and Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Within the comedy, there are moments of drama. The enclosed photo is from the Act II confrontation in Puccini’s Tosca, one of our operatic offerings along with music by Mozart, Bizet, and Tchaikovsky. Looks like soprano Anna Singer has something she wants to say! (Photo credit: Catherine Lewis.)
On a very positive note, your donations for literacy and arts integration programs at Fairview Elementary School keep coming in, and so far we have raised over $4,500 from this concert. Thank you for your generosity! We will provide information during our broadcast on the importance of these fantastic student programs and ways for you to support them if you choose.
Subscribe to the Richard Lewis Opera and Broadway Channel to receive a countdown for the concert and to view our past performances. We look forward to sharing our “Down with Love” broadcast on Sunday, October 12 at 4:00 p.m. Thanks and see you soon!
With best wishes,
Richard Lewis
