HAND is partnering with IU Student Legal Services and the Division of Student Affairs to offer a workshop on resources available to off-campus students. Some of the things you'll learn are:
- Your legal rights and responsibilities as a tenant and a Bloomington resident,
- How the Division of Student Affairs supports and advocates for student success.
- How to access information about City program, services, and ordinances to improve your safety and quality of life.

We will be removing invasive plants and trash from the creek along the cemetery stone wall. City of Bloomington landscaping staff will be there with supplies, gear and guidance.
Here is Additional Information for Participants:
Location: We will meet at the Rose Hill Maintenance Shop (the SW corner of the cemetery).
Parking: Parking is limited, so please ask volunteers to walk, bike or carpool, if possible. You can park in the Cresent Donuts parking lot.
Weather: This is an outdoor event. If the weather seems questionable, please plan to show up regardless, and the on-site supervisor can decide whether to move forward with the event.
Attire: Casual. Volunteers should wear clothing that they don’t mind getting dirty and that is appropriate for the weather. Long pants are recommended (there is some poison ivy in the area we will be working). For safety reasons, we also require all volunteers to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes; sandals provide little protection for the wearer’s feet and are not permitted.
What to Bring: If you have work gloves, bring them with you. We also recommend a filled water bottle to stay hydrated.
On-site Supervisor: When you arrive, a Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department staff member will be there to greet you and have you sign our volunteer sign-in sheet and waiver. Orientation/instruction will be provided at the start of the event.
Duties: We'll be removing various types of invasive plants such as woody invasives and vines around Rose Hill Cemetery, near Clear Creek.
Age of Volunteers: 12 yrs. and up. (Volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.)
