Community Creek Clean-up west-end Rose Hill Cemetery
Thursday Nov. 4th 1pm - 3pm (behind Cresent Donuts)
We will be removing invasive plants and trash from the creek along the cemetery stone wall. City of Bloomington landscaping staff will be there with supplies, gear and guidance.
Our community creek clean-up in October was very successful but we have a little bit left to do in order to get the honeysuckle all out before winter. Please join us to finish this first round of invasives removal!

Here is Additional Information for Participants:
Location: We will meet at the Rose Hill Maintenance Shop (the SW corner of the cemetery).
Parking: Parking is limited, so please ask volunteers to walk, bike or carpool, if possible. You can park in the Cresent Donuts parking lot.
Weather: This is an outdoor event. If the weather seems questionable, please plan to show up regardless, and the on-site supervisor can decide whether to move forward with the event.
Attire: Casual. Volunteers should wear clothing that they don’t mind getting dirty and that is appropriate for the weather. Long pants are recommended (there is some poison ivy in the area we will be working). For safety reasons, we also require all volunteers to wear sturdy, closed-toe shoes; sandals provide little protection for the wearer’s feet and are not permitted.
What to Bring: If you have work gloves, bring them with you. We also recommend a filled water bottle to stay hydrated.
On-site Supervisor: When you arrive, a Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department staff member will be there to greet you and have you sign our volunteer sign-in sheet and waiver. Orientation/instruction will be provided at the start of the event.
Duties: We'll be removing various types of invasive plants such as woody invasives and vines around Rose Hill Cemetery, near Clear Creek.
Age of Volunteers: 12 yrs. and up. (Volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.)
Volunteers under the age of 18 must have an Underage Waiver of Liability signed by a parent or guardian and must bring it with them when they arrive for their shift. CLICK HERE to download the waiver.
Other: Volunteers will be required to wear a mask for safety reasons. Volunteers may bring their own, or one will be provided to them
