Legacy IU Health Bloomington Hospital Neighborhood Meeting

You are invited to attend the Legacy IU Health Bloomington Hospital Decommission and Deconstruction Neighborhood Meeting that will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 11 starting at 5:30 pm.  

During this discussion with IU Health leaders and construction engineering firm, DLZ, you will learn about the current status of the legacy hospital, what to expect in the days ahead around the decommissioning and deconstruction process, as well as have the opportunity to ask questions specific to the decommissioning and deconstruction process. This meeting will not cover the reuse of the legacy IU Health Bloomington Hospital site and surrounding buildings. This information continues to be available and addressed by the City of Bloomington through the Bloomington Hospital Site Redevelopment Committee.

The neighborhood meeting is being held to specifically address the questions of residents and business owners that reside in the neighborhoods surrounding the legacy hospital. The neighborhood meeting will be a virtual event. Please register to attend by visiting the Neighborhood Meeting Registration page and providing your contact information.    

Rose Hill Cemetery Tour this Summer

Rose Hill Cemetery tours usually "sell out" quickly, so they have offered to provide a special tour for neighbors in Prospect Hill! It's taking place Saturday, June 11th at 7pm. If you know you'll attend, go ahead and RSVP now. 

We'll send out reminders when the date is closer. 

BT Route 2 West Change

Bloomington Transit is moving forward with service changes on Route 2 West (map here), to begin Monday, January 17th. BT staff presented and gathered feedback on several iterations of route changes, and last month our board approved the third and final version.

Route 2 West changes include:

• Service on 12th St, instead of 13th St, through Crestmont neighborhood
• Elimination of service on Blair Ave near Tri-North MS
• Elimination of inbound service on Morton St

These alterations will allow the route to more easily stay on schedule, provide reliable transfers downtown, while maintaining accessibility.
