Memory still an issue with jitsi

Hello,
We are using prosody 0.11.10 with Jitsi and seem to run into excessive memory usage.
Changes were made as described here:
https://prosody.im/security/advisory_20210512/
While it seems to try to free memory more often the usage still climbs and has very little real Impact.
Looking at using jemalloc as described here:

But don't know how to use it with lua. Tried ld_preload but didn't get it working. Lua version is 5.2.
Anyone else seeing this? Ideas for anything to try. Or how to use jemalloc with prosody.
