Prosody works fine with gtalk. Can you enable debug logging and post
your Prosody logs when you attempt to connect to gtalk through
Prosody?

I apologize for the long delay. You are right I once enabled google-
apps account for that domain, but I just forgot about it. I actually
disabled gtalk right from the beginning, so I am not sure how this
could have happened. Anyways - thanks a lot - getting rid of google-
apps anyways.
