TheMortar Grinder RM 200 can mix and homogenize powders, suspension and pastes, even for samples with high viscosity. The RM 200 is suitable for the proper and reproducible sample preparation to analytical fineness.

The sample grinder substitutes cumbersome hand mortars by a high performance drive with electronic control. The grinding set can be cooled and heated and is very easy to clean. Grinding sets of various material qualities are available which can be exchanged easily for optimum adaptation to various grinding tasks.

The Mortar Grinder RM 200 comminutes, mixes and triturates by pressure and friction. The function of the scraper is to feed the sample material into the area between the mortar and pestle. This forced feed ensures that the whole of the sample is continuously subjected to the grinding and trituration process and is also intensively mixed.

The grinder pestle is not located in the center of the mortar but is offset; contact with the rotating mortar and the sample causes it to rotate automatically. The necessary grinding pressure is achieved by the weight of the pestle itself combined with the adjustable spring pressure acting on its axis.

Exceptional burrs are the key to consistent and uniform grounds. We placed the same quality burrs that Mahlknig is known for among coffee professionals in the X54 to unlock pro-level grinding in the home kitchen.

Made in our Hamburg, Germany facility

The connected Mahlknig Home app integrates your preferences with the X54 Allround Home Grinder. Create and assign recipes to the time presets, see your personal usage statistics, and use our guides to master the dial-in process for various brewing methods.

The 54mm special steel burrs of the X54 Allround Home are manufactured in our facility in Hamburg, Germany from high-quality tool steel alloy that is hardened for wear resistance and blasted during finishing to prevent burr settling, which makes these burrs pre-seasoned. The finishing process is unique to Mahlknig and one of the reasons our burrs are respected around the world for producing consistent and uniform grounds long-term.

We recommend cleaning any coffee grinder at least once a week with our food safe GRINDZ coffee cleaner. Simply grind GRINDZ through your grinder, just like coffee beans, to remove old coffee residues and coffee oils from the grinder casing and the burrs. Detailed information on the cleaning procedure can be found in the instructions manual for the X54 Allround Home Grinder or the GRINDZ grinder cleaner. GRINDZ is available in our shop.

The surface of the grinder can be wiped with a damp, lint-free cloth. You should never use chemical detergents to clean your grinder since these could cause damage to the surface materials or even end up in your coffee.

The Mahlknig X54 is designed specifically for grinding coffee beans. It is not suitable for grinding other products such as pepper, spices, poppy seeds or grains. Grinding products other than coffee beans with the X54 Allround Home could damage the grinder, incurring repair costs from a professional Mahlknig service partner.

With the download of the Mahlknig Home app for the X54 Allround Home Grinder, home baristas of all levels have access to Mahlknig's coffee grinding equipment and expertise. Use the dial-in assistant to learn how to adjust your new grinder to the appropriate grind size per brewing method and optimize coffee flavor. Use the dial-in assistant as often as you like when you change to a different coffee type or brew method. Edit and adjust your recipes as you evolve through your home brewing coffee journey and update notes within each recipe.

To change your grind size, simply turn the knob. You can go from a setting for espresso all the way to a setting for cold brew coffee by turning the knob. Run the X54 Allround Home Grinder when adjusting the grind size to a finer setting, to prevent the adjustment mechanism from sticking or damage.

Perfect substrate preparation is the prerequisite for a perfect result. The RENOFIX RG 130 ECI surface-restoration grinder is a powerful and absolutely reliable helper for grinding concrete or removing old coatings and adhesive residue. The brushless EC-TEC motor provides the power to work without interruptions, with the maximum service life. In combination with the CT 36 AC HEPA and CT 48 AC Dust Extractors, high volumes of dust are caught and contained easily.

Coffee obsessives care a lot about grinders. If you're investing in good coffee beans, the mechanism that you're using to render them into grounds plays a big role. But I'll be honest, I never really thought it made that much of a difference whether you went for a blade grinder or a burr grinder. So I decided to test them side by side, in a French press, a pour-over, and a Moka pot.

There's a pretty big difference between a blade and a burr grinder. Blade grinders have rotating blades, like a blender, that slice up the beans into grounds. For this test, I used a Krups Electric Coffee Grinder. Burr grinders are more precise pieces of equipment. Two burrs, either conical or flat, slowly grind the beans into even pieces. You can use a manual one that has a hand crank, or you can invest in an electric one that lets you choose a setting, from coarse to fine. For this test, I used the Krups Adjustable Burr Grinder, an electric model. It runs $49.99, while the blade grinder retails for $19.99 (though you can often find it cheaper). The question at hand was: Can I, someone who drinks coffee pretty much every day but definitely doesn't consider myself to be all that picky, tell a difference in which makes a better cup?

Is a burr grinder worth it? If you like buying whole beans, and you prefer a pour-over or a Moka pot, yes, definitely. If you like using a French Press, I'd say not really. Either option is definitely better than trying to grind your beans in a blender after you realized your grinder broke which I, uh, have definitely never done.

You may love taco seasoning more than life itself, but that doesn't mean you want your bread pudding to taste like it. We're guilty of just wiping our spice grinders clean after blitzing coffee or spices, but it's only a little more work to give them a thorough clean between uses. Test kitchen assistant Gaby Melian is here to share four of her favorite methods, which involve ingredients that you already have in your kitchen.

Baking Soda

Bread and rice are both great at getting the grinder clean, but neither took the strong scent of the cumin away completely. Since baking soda is a great way to keep your fridge from smelling, she tried it for the spice grinder. Use 2 Tbsp. of baking soda and pulse for 30 seconds. It will take out some of the scent, but won't make it brand new again.

White Vinegar

When the baking soda didn't fully do the trick, Gaby poured a little bit of white vinegar on a paper towel and wiped the grinder clean. (FYI, you should never wash your grinder under water because of its electric parts, but a slightly-dampened paper towel to wipe it out is okay.) It took away most of the residual cumin scent...but it replaced it with the potent smell of vinegar. After a few hours of airing out with the top off, it will smell pretty neutral and be ready to grind up something new. When in doubt, use vinegar: it's a cure-all to most stinky kitchen problems.

Besides the Royal Grinder, which we recommend, The Power Tower is compatible with most of the range of the 1zpresso grinders. At Flair, we are targeting to increase this compatibility list, so this will be updated from time to time.

When paired with the Royal Grinder, the Power Tower will provide incredible consistency in grinding for any brew method. Featuring plenty of torque to cut through light and dark roasted beans alike, and featuring 72 individual adjustments of .02mm each, the Power Tower and Royal combo is made for any brew method.

If you're on tiktok (or social media in general), you probably already know what a grinder salad is! But if not, quite simply, it's a salad made with the same ingredients as an italian grinder sandwich, minus the hoagie roll bread. And for good reason, obvs!

This super tasty, totally loaded Italian sandwich is typically made with a long, crusty roll, filled with meats, cheeses, vegetables, and a creamy salad dressing. A classic italian sub sandwich easily one of my favorite sandwiches but when you chop it all up, it gets even more delicious!

My version of this hearty salad trend is made with my favorite sandwich ingredients. It's got shredded lettuce, tomatoes, cold cuts (such as salami and ham) fresh mozzarella, and parmesan cheese. Then comes the fresh veggies which are my favorite part! It's got cherry tomatoes, banana peppers, pickled red onion, and some pickled jalapenos for taste

You'll want to set it up like one of the mason jar salads - or in any airtight container that is on the thinner, longer side. Stacking the ingredients of an italian sub salad will help keep the crisp lettuce from getting too wet and soggy.

The base of the salad will your homemade dressing. You can mix a big batch of this grinder salad dressing pretty easily. Just add your garlic expressions, some tangy red wine vinegar, and some mayo to a small bowl and whisk until combined. Evenly divide a little bit of the delicious creamy dressing on the bottom of the airtight containers.
