+ several performance improvements. System.gc() calls have been erradicated form startUI(), making app loading time quite faster on Series 40 and 60 handsets (2x to 3x faster). Also several if-else cascades have been collapsed into switch/case statements. Some pieces of code which were called thousands of times have been optimized for performance. Overall experience on a couple of test applications is way nicer now.
