Because what they're talking about is copying code from the "Peek Code" window. They take that, paste it into Notepad, make changes, copy it, and bring it back to PowerAutomate, but then what? You can't paste that code into the Peek Code window.

Ok so I click the ellipsis on the switch statement and select Copy to Clipboard, which I can paste into my notepad as show below, so how do I paste this into the code. Where on this switch statement do I paste it? there is not option for this that I can see. Please help because I don't understand how this is achived.

I have buttons on three different screens on my app that do the same things. Some of these do three or four things when you push them. As far as I can tell, the only way to get them all do the same thing is to cut and paste the code from one to another.

I say the INSERTED component, as opposed to the name of the component itself, which would throw an error. I found out that that it is ok to reset the same inserted component no matter what screen you are on, and it always triggers the code

I appreciate your answer, and it is very clear to me that you are correct. You and all the people in these forums have been incredible helpful and patience with me on my Power Apps journey. I marked it solved because I feel like it has turned to a discussion about the ontological nature of Power Apps in relationship to traditional development, and perhaps there is a better place for that.

That being said, I am really unclear how you do things without relying on the OnXxxx actions. I mean isn't the whole point to a button to give an OnSelect function? At what point I am using them "a lot"? How else to you the app to do in things in response to user input.

Yes, as @TheRobRush mentioned, I am not saying that PowerApps is just a different Excel, not at all. PowerApps has a vast amount of power and capability. My point though is that PowerApps is designed using formulas on properties (like cells in Excel) and also provides behavioral actions, which Excel does not have.

Select across screens is not a bug, that is by design. It would make no sense to select a control on another screen, especially since that screen may not even have been initialized in the app at that point. However, you CAN interact with controls across screens and you can also create contained actions through controls like toggles. Then you can cause the toggle to go true and thus perform the behavioral action. So all that can be done.

A component also CAN navigate to any screen you want. However, for the component to "know" about your screens breaks the concept of components. Instead, if you are passing the screen into a property of your component, then by all means that component can then navigate to that screen - but by the name of the screen as determined by the property.

The only advice I can provide in general is (because I've encountered your feelings by many) to try to discontinue looking at any of PowerApps as development. Get a better feel of how everything is referential in PowerApps and how everything evaluates itself all the time in the app, just like Excel formulas. If you find yourself using behavioral actions (OnXxxx actions) a lot, then you are looking too much at the platform as a development platform.

PowerApps is very capable of very large and sophisticated apps. The time to production is tremendously short in comparison to real development, and the infrastructure to support all devices with security across them all is already in place. So, there are some real advantages.

I use the peek at code to get the specific names for things (for example each part of a form that you have fetched will have a long serial number with letters and numbers as its name that you reference in the expressions. Like so

I have to disagree on some of those points. With PowerApps you can certainly do some very impressive stuff, especially since it runs on mobile devices, where your advanced excel functionality (custom coding in the background etc.) is (at least on apple os dont know about android) not an option. When Randy says it is built modeled after excel he isn't saying PowerApps isn't able to handle advanced functionality.

This is specifically what got me so frustrated. Microsoft literally touts Power Apps as having "Advanced Functionality" not the ability to do everything you can in Excel, but on a mobile device. It is definitely never mentioned that the "Advanced Functionality" is just "Advanced Excel Functionality". It literally says "advanced functionality previously only available to professional developers" on powerapps.microsoft.com so you can understand why some one who make that conclusion.

I do appreciate the trick to edit a flow. I am going to try that, but again, it seems like bad design by Microsoft to not just let you edit the code directly. Like why even let me see it in that case?

You can make a custom component and add a button to it and make the onselect Back() this will bring you to previous screen you came from not sure if your home is previous screen from one you will be on or not

The goal of fusion development is to create an environment where Citizen Developers, Professional developers (aka code-first) and IT Professional can collaborate seamlessly. We want to create great experience for makers creating an app for the first time and for code-first developers that want to have the transparency of the source code for their Power Apps.

With the copy from Power Apps Studio, you can paste it to a text or to a code editor like Visual Studio Code to do small edits. Once you are done, you can paste it back to Power Apps Studio to create a new control.

Data shows Microsoft Power Platform improves business outcomes. Accelerate innovation and reduce costs as you analyze data, automate processes, and build apps, websites, and virtual agents with Power Platform.

I can use the "advanced editor" to just write the code, instead of waiting for screen refreshes etc. But each data source has to be edited indivisually. Is there no way to just see ALL the code in one window. IF taht was possible, I should be able to do in 1 hour what currently takes me a whole day to do.

It is possible! While in Desktop, go to File, then About, then you'll see an option to "Copy session diagnostics to clipboard". Paste that information into a text file, and you'll have access to all of your queries in one spot. It's not the 'perfect' solution, but with Find and Replace, you can update all your code at once, and then paste it back into the individual queries.

Right, that is a Tenant setting that needs to be enabled in order to create embed codes or Publish to web codes. However, I will say that sometimes I get that message even when I know the tenant setting is enabled. I just have try again and it works. Generally happens immediately after I publish my report and then go to it via the "Open this report" link that you get after you publish.

I have enabled the settnigs but i am still getting same response that admin need to enable the settings. I don't understand. Although i am using a developer account with pro license. May that be the reason?

I have the exact same issue, Juan! I understand that I need to select "Allow existing and new codes" but that doesn't appear for me. I also see the same message that says "To enable Publish to Web you must disable Block Public Internet Access first" but when I find that (under "Advanced Networking", it's also already disabled!?

If you just check the box that IS there (I think it says "Only allow existing codes" or something) then when you save/refresh, it updates to say "Allow existing and new codes"... It doesn't really make sense at all, but it did work for me!

I have, or should I say, HAD a Marshall CODE 50 which after 20 months of service decided to quit following a POWER SUPPLY failure. I took it to an electrical repairer for diagnosis and found out, through Marshall Australia and UK that the power supply is not replaceable because it has been suspended. No parts available. That means I now have an amp that is unfixable and never will be, even with an aftert-market power supply - which, according to Marshall cannot be retro-fitted. What a fantastic waste of money that exercise was, and I have zero warranty fall-back. Has anyone else had the same problem? Kev

I have forwarded your first e-mail to our distrubutor in Australia Electric Factory who are looking into your case and will be in touch with you with a solution. So please wait to hear from them and the situation will be resolved, if you have any issues please contact us at servi...@marshall.com

I hope you are well. Just to make sure, in your implementation of empty project, did you add new peripherals like ADC, some peripherals might prevent the device from entering standby. Your first image shows the correct policy. What changes or additions did you make to the code, if any, and did you include and functions (or while loops) that could be preventing the program from entering standby? Did you already setup a "Power_registerNotify(...)" handler to receiver power notification events? you can use that to then setup a power notify callback event, which then can read the eventType. When sleep is called we should see the device enter standby mode (you can also check the Energytrace power).
