As part of celebrations for India@75 and India-Japan@70, a Virtual Pitching Event by Indian Start-ups (7th Session) focusing on Industry 4.0 sector was jointly organized by Startup India and Embassy of India, Tokyo on 28th July, 2021 with support from JETRO. The objective of the session was to provide Indian startups a platform to pitch their innovations to Japanese investors and business corporations to explore investment and strategic business and technical collaboration. During the event, 10 Startups in Industry 4.0 sector from India made made a live pitch to Japanese stakeholders in 3D printing, augmented reality products, computer vision, robotics, big data and Internet of Things (IoT). 50 participants from India and Japan attended the live pitching event.

Ambassador Sanjay Kumar Verma read the President of India's address to the nation on the occasion. Due to pandemic related restrictions, Indian diaspora in Japan and friends of India joined the ceremony virtually. The ceremony also featured singing performances by students of Global Indian International School and India International School in Japan. As a part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, Embassy of India, Tokyo organized an India Quiz in different age categories in co-ordination with Global Indian International School - GIIS Tokyo, Japan and India International School in Japan - IISJ. The quiz saw enthusiastic participation from more than 2000 students. The winners were felicitated at the Embassy by H.E Ambassador Sanjay Kumar Verma. The felicitation ceremony was also attended by teachers and parents. Ambassador addressing the students, highlighted the rich culture and traditions of India. The students also shared their thoughts on India @ 75.

As part of the celebrations for India@75 and India-Japan@70, a virtual tour of Indian Buddhist pilgrimage centres namely Rajgir and Shravasti was organized by VYatra and Asahi Travels, Japan in association with Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India, Tokyo. Prof. Siddharth Singh, Director, Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Tokyo delivered a speech about the historical significance of both the places, where Lord Buddha delivered most of his discourses. Several Buddhist scholars delivered speeches and the Buddhist priests like Rev. Nobuyasu Kaneko, Rev. Mikio Asai and Chief Priest of Japanese Temple, Rajgir performed the Buddhist chanting. Large number of audience including the members of the Discover India Club attended the virtual pilgrimage tour. Mr Markus of Asahi Travels and Mr Saurabh Mishra of VYatra conducted the entire event.
As part of celebrations of India@75 and India-Japan@70, an India-Japan Footwear & Leather Products Buyer-Seller Meet was jointly organized by the Council for Leather Exports (CLE) and Embassy of India, Tokyo on August 25, 2021. The objective of the event was to bring together the Indian manufacturers of footwear and leather products and Japanese buyers on one platform. 12 Indian leather exporters showcased their products to Japanese stakeholders. Around 40 participants from India and Japan attended the Virtual Buyer-Seller Meet.
As part of the celebrations for AmritMahotsav AzadiKaAmritMahotsav and India-Japan @ 70, Episode 14, 15, 16 and 17 of the Digital Dance Series were released by the Embassy. The videos featured performances by Odissi artist Tomomi Fukui, Odissi artist Kaori Naka and Bharatanatyam artist Kaname Tomiyasu.

An exhibition themed on National Unity was curated by local Indian Associations in Embassy Foyer from October 29 to 31. A resplendent cultural program was organized at the auditorium of Embassy on October 31. Ambassador also administered Rashtriya Ekta pledge to the attendees of the program on October 31.

As part of AKAM activities, Vivekananda Cultural Centre, Embassy of India in Japan, held a conclusion ceremony at the end of the July-December 2021 semester on 10 December. Ambassador, gave congratulatory remarks and awarded certificates to those who had completed their course in Yoga, Bharatnatyam, Movie Dance, Odissi and Tabla. This was followed by presentations by students of each of the classes, enthusiastically demonstrating what they had learnt during the semester.
H.E. Sanjay Kumar Verma, Ambassador of India to Japan, gave inaugural remarks at the opening of the Mithila Museum Collection Exhibition in Urayasu City, Chiba. The exhibition showcased the collection of Mithila and Madhubani artworks belonging to the Mithila Museum in Tookamachi, Niigata and was open to the public between 18th to 26th December 2021.
