Learnhow to reinstall scanner drivers in Neat for Windows. If you need to download drivers for your scanner for the first time, click here instead. If you are having issues with your scanner, follow the steps below to remove and reinstall your scanner drivers.
This issue occurs when a Neat driver was previously installed and remnants of the previous installation prevent the driver from being installed again. If you need to download drivers for your scanner for the first time, click here instead. Follow the steps below to remove and reinstall your scanner drivers.
Check with the developers of the scanner to see if they have updates to address 10.13. It is not uncommon for device manufactures to either not keep up or stop development on older devices. If that occurs with your scanner then you may want to consider looking at VueScan. Their site is located at VueScan Scanner Software for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. They specialize in scanner software for legacy scanners.
Also, if you are using the software developed by the Neat. Consider just using Image Capture which is already installed on your Mac. You can learn more by clicking Mac Basics: Using a scanner - Apple Support
The good news is overall the report does not show any major problems. However you do have a lot of Internet Plugins, some that you no longer use. I would recommend using the advice in Safari 8 (Yosemite): If you need to remove a plug-in to remove the ones you no longer need.
This means the Neat software is likely causing the problem. To uninstall, first check with the developers to see if they have any instructions for uninstalling. If they do not then locate the application and drag it to the Trash and empty the Trash.
I downloaded VueScan; It works just fine with my Canon and HP all in one WiFi hardware. The NEAT ADF scanner is loaded in the Printer/Scanner System preferences, but is not available to VueScan, and when I open the scanner in System preferences, the image capture windows opens and after a brief second the shows details button which grays out but the scan button opens gray and remains gray.
No, what I meant is when you launch the Image Capture application and have it running, will it "see: the NEAF scanner. If you don't know how to launch Image Capture the easiest method is to open Spotlight (the magnifying glass symbol in the upper right of the display) and type "Image Capture".
Yes I tried that last night (opening Image Capture from Spotlight). The image capture window showed up, and the neat scanner was select-able in menu bar on the left. When I select Neat Scanner, for a brief second the two buttons on the bottom right appear, but then thy both gray out. I can do nothing in the Image Capture window after that.
Please post an EtreCheckreport of your system. We can then look for obvious issues. Please click the link, download the app and run the report. Once you have the report, please copy and paste it as your reply to this post.
Hi, it is me again........ I have done all that you mentioned in the last reply. Yes, I have downloaded the software from "Neat scanner drivers for Windows or Mac." to no avail. Finally, I removed all NEAT items (NET Desktop.app, and all Drivers from /Library/Image Capture/Devices that had anything to do with NEAT) and removed the NEAT ADF scanner from System Preferences. Restarted in Safe mode, and tried Image Capture again. Same result, as before. I guess I have a NEAT ADF scanner Brick that I will put in my store room until someone comes up with a 3rd party workaround that will reactivate the scanner.
I have the same problem. I went through the steps with NSDK3 error. I tried the download link and am getting a message that my membership expired. I can't re-download the software? Never heard of that with a scanner before.
I got the Neat scanner to work, at least temporarily (the Neat Forums say the updated driver can be temporary). I deleted the old driver under Library/Image Capture and replaced it with the updated driver.
If you want to keep your Neat scanners in good condition, and have the best possible experience, you should consider updating drivers for Neat scanners. In addition, if your scanner is not working properly, updating the scanner driver can be an effective solution to fix the problem.
I own a NeatDesk scanner (ND-1000). This is a pretty decent dual sided scanner. I'm in the process of becoming a "Ubuntu" user instead of a "Windows" user . . . and have migrated pretty much everything I do on to the Ubuntu environment. At this point the only hardware I have that I haven't been able to use directly in Ubuntu is the ND-1000 scanner.
(C) Is there better UBUNTU software (read better = easier/more intuitive to use) than "XSANE" for scanning?
(I've used it a couple times & when scanning & saving to a .pdf, it always scans a "full page" worth no matter the size of the document I'm scanning . . . and I'm not finding a "CROP" option)
(C - UPDATE) I found & used "Simple-scan" but unfortunately, I wasn't about to control enough of the parameters . . . (a) the scan turned out mostly "blueish" (and I didn't find a color control) . . . (b) the crop option didn't seem to work . . . probably user error . . . but I didn't take the time to solve it, because the "blueish" document blew it for me & I found another scanning alternative: (X-Sane works well with networked multi-function scanners, btw! . . . both HP and Canon!)

I have Neat Receipts working in an XP VirtualBox v4.1.8 r75467. It requires the VirtualBox Guest Additions and shows up in the USB as "The Neat Company Neat ADF Scanner" and I have set it up in the main settings for my Virtual Instance with a permanent USB Filter: Vendor ID: 1f44 / Product ID: 0050 / Revision: 06a6 / Manufacturer: The Neat Company / Product Neat ADF Scanner / Serial No.: CNLF1.. with Port: and Remote: No. I run the Neat Application (Version 5 SP5) inside the XP environment and it passes right through. . . . I still do not have a solution to use the scanner directly in Ubuntu.
I'm now in the same boat you are - wanting to use the Neat ND 1000 with Ubuntu (12.04). This thread is a bit old but would like to help if I can - testing primarily, though I might be able to help write some drivers too. Are you still using the Windows XP VM?
I need the scanner drivers for the old version of the neat receipt SCSA4601EU scanner and the original software. If you are going to suggest the PlusTek website, don't unless you plan on telling me what the plustek model numbers is because I don't have it
Hi,I'd be happy to help you out with your question. Sorry for the inconvenience caused.I apologize for the inconvenience, but it seems that the Neat Receipt SCSA4601EU scanner is no longer supported by its manufacturer, Neat. As a result, drivers and software for this scanner may not be available on their website. However, you can try searching online for the scanner model name or number to see if you can find the drivers and software you need. It's important to be careful when downloading drivers from the internet and to ensure that they are from a trustworthy source.Another option could be to try using a generic scanner driver that is compatible with your operating system. These can often be found online, but make sure to download from a reputable source. If you are unable to find the drivers and software for your scanner, you may need to consider upgrading to a newer model that is supported and has up-to-date drivers and software available. If you have any other questions or need assistance with anything, please don't hesitate to let me know. I'm here to help.
I recently installed an upgrade of Neat Receipts from 3.1.3 to Neat Works
4.0. Apparently it's Twain Scanner Driver somehow has interfered with my
Canon MP970 Scanner Driver. The problem is I get an Error Message which says
at the top: TWAIN Data Source. The body of the message is: "Program was
unable to load the necessary component and it's going to terminate. Please
re-install your software." This message just pops up periodically and when I
clear it, it pops up again. If I clear it again, then it will wait several
minutes before it again pops up.I uninstalled NeatWorks and re-installed it, to no improvement. Then I
re-installed the drivers for the MP970, to no improvement. Is there a way to find out what program is causing the Error Message to be
displayed? If so, How? HELP!

Looking for a Neat Receipts alternative? Look for a system that puts simplicity as its top priority. Even more importantly, look for a system that keeps your receipts on your own computer, where they belong. Does a viable Neat Receipts replacement exist? Absolutely. And the alternative is FileCenter Receipts.
Neat Receipts made a monumental mistake when they shifted receipt storage from your computer to the Cloud. Neat cloud services have been very poorly received for one vital reason: users want control over their files. Unfortunately, Neat's cloud storage deprives users of that control.
In this scenario, FileCenter Receipts shines as a Neat alternative and replacement. FileCenter Receipts stores receipts in simple electronic receipt boxes, a very simple concept for most users to grasp. More importantly, behind the scenes FileCenter Receipts stores those receipt boxes on your hard drive in standard Windows folders. You never have to worry about having access or control. For those who enjoy Cloud access, FileCenter can optionally integrate with leading Cloud drives, like OneDrive, Google Drive, and DropBox.
A key feature of Neat Receipts is receipt scanning. FileCenter Receipts gets its scanning engine from FileCenter, one of the most powerful, yet simple, scanning interfaces around. It captures both the image and the receipt text so that every receipt is searchable.
