More California seniors are losing housing for the first time late in life, often after decades of steady work and stable housing.
Some are renters who outlived their pension and ended up on the street. Others are longtime homeowners who say rising property tax and the cost of living are making it harder to stay. Neither story fits the usual picture of how someone becomes homeless.
