California Joins a National Movement on Property Tax Reform — And You Can Help
Neighbors — something important is happening across the country. The Florida House recently moved forward with a proposal that would let voters decide on major property tax relief, and now more than 16 states are exploring similar reforms. California has a chance to be part of that national momentum.
The 60+ Property Tax Exemption Act of 2026 is officially moving toward the November 2026 ballot, with more than 300 volunteers already helping gather signatures across the state. The goal is simple: give seniors who have spent a lifetime building our communities the stability and peace of mind to remain in their homes, while encouraging a broader conversation about accountability and responsible spending.
Our movement has seen widespread coverage in ABC10 Sacramento, ABC7 Los Angeles, CBS8 San Diego, the Sacramento Bee, Yahoo News, and others. Now the next step depends on neighbors like us. Before asking Californians to pay more, many believe government should show it can manage resources responsibly and address waste first.
