So I understand that the way REVIT enscape assets work is they have temporary geometry and an EnscapeMaterial Asset ID Paramater which swaps this proxy out for a high res version of the object. Now this does not seem to work, when an Enscape material asset/family is then loaded(nested) into another REVIT family. Often nested REVIT families are much more efficient and makes cleaner REVIT models than revit groups.

Our specific use case: We are sending the revit model to rhino to build the structural analysis model. The structural model generally does not perfectly match the BIM model / structural layout by necessity of simplification / assumptions etc.

Im at the very start of transforming all my dynamo graphs to python code.
So why not ask some python experts what Im doing wrong, what could be done better, what has to be avoided, what i have to keep in mind. Especially, what can I do easyer by importing pyrevit methods.

end of the day you will get more concise code, with a little toll on the time it takes to run your scripts, pyRevit wrapping Autodesk Revit API, it should take a little bit longer to run strict Autodek Revit API code vs pyrevit wrapped one.

4. From a terminal on the revitpythonlibrarywrapper.lib folder, run the build_docs.bat file. This should rebuild the documentation and save it on the folder docs/_build/html.The Docs will be build remotely on readthedocs.org once the code is pushed to github.

Testing python code in revit is a bit unconventional due to the need having to have Revit open.Rpw uses standard unit tests packaged as a pyRevit extensions.Take a look at some of the existing tests, and start by duplicate one of the existing tests. Then add the the parent folder of rpw.extension to your pyRevit Paths and reload. You should see a newtab with all the tests.
