Hi,

we have installed  Prometheus, node-exporter, alertmanager, kube-state-metrics & Grafana with this helm chart
we installed extracting the yamls from the Helm template as we do not have HELM on our clusters.

now I have update the grafana version to 8.0.5, just changes the image from previous yaml to new image

Prometheus-operator is giving an error

level=error ts=xxxxxxxx caller=klog.go:116 component=k8s_client_runtime func=ErrorDepth msg="pkg/mod/k8s.io/clie...@v0.22.0/tools/cache/reflector.go:167: Failed to watch *v1alpha1.AlertmanagerConfig: failed to list *v1alpha1.AlertmanagerConfig: alertmanagerconfigs.monitoring.coreos.com is forbidden: User \"system:serviceaccount:cap-monitoring-service:prometheus-operator\" cannot list resource \"alertmanagerconfigs\" in API group \"monitoring.coreos.com\" at the cluster scope"

Prometheus-operator is not part of prometheus - and nor is grafana for that matter.

It would be best if you take up this problem with whoever maintains the prometheus-operator project.

From following https://github.com/helm/charts/tree/master/stable/prometheus-operator I see that this project is deprecated - further development will take place at https://github.com/prometheus-community/helm-charts/tree/main/charts/kube-prometheus-stack (which includes documentation on how to migrate). Therefore, I suspect any issues with the legacy project won't get high priority.
