Kill Command is not working

Hi 
I have deployed the prometheus on kubernetes environment and the instance is from Opertor. So we i was suppose to restart the server I am using the command "kill -SIGHUP <pid>" but it is not kiling the server and it is still running.

Hi,

SIGHUP is nor restart prometheus, it is just reloading the config.

OK 
so when I was supposed to restart I need to kill the server right so may I know the command to kill the server

Just "kill <pid>" - which is short for "kill -TERM <pid>"

That sends a "terminate" signal.  It will finish what it's doing, and then terminate.

The hangup (HUP) signal tells prometheus to re-read its configuration.
