prometheus and syslog

I am trying to separate all prometheus logs to a separate file.  I"m having trouble with the --log.format string.  Can someone validate this?

--log.format="10.150.10.101?appname=snmp_exporter&local=4"

We removed syslog integration from Prometheus 2.0 and will upgrade our exporters eventually as well. If you need syslog integration, the most future proof solution would be to use a side-car which takes the stdout output from Prometheus and writes that to the right syslog location.

So i'm trying to do this with the snmp_exporter.  Also, i'm still on Prometheus 1.8 on CentOS 7.
