OpenMetrics support (stateset and info)

Hi all,

I'm working on a project were we create metrics based on the OpenMetrics spec. This also includes stateset and the info metric.

Afaik, prometheus does not yet support those metrics. Is there any timeframe on when the full OpenMetrics spec will be supported?

Also, is it the expected behaviour if the scraper encounters an unknown metric, it will stop processing at that point?

I had some help off-list stating that this should just work. After looking into it a bit more, it was simply a matter of adding the right content type to my own endpoint's response.

So adding "application/openmetrics-text; version=1.0.0; charset=utf-8" made it all work as expected!

What do you mean with "an unknown metric"?
