The Prometheus Playground

Prometheus user folk,

I have a personal project that I've been working on for a bit that may be of interest to some of you. I'm calling it the Prometheus Playground and you can have a look at it here:

Basically it's a series of Docker-Compose-based projects that enable you to get a hands-on perspective of some Prometheus use cases and deployment scenarios. To run any given example you just need to run docker-compose up and the "world" is built for you. Each project has its own README describing what's contained in it and how to use it.

Please don't hesitate to submit issues (including requests for example projects) and pull requests. I'd love to get as much community input as possible.

PS—The Prometheus Playground came about as part of my work with the CNCF adding some new material to the official Prometheus docs. You can see some examples of this documentation work in the following guides: Monitoring Docker container metrics using cAdvisor, Monitoring Linux host metrics with the Node Exporter, and Securing Prometheus API and UI endpoints using TLS encryption, with several more guides on the way.

This is awesome, thanks for putting this together! It'd be great to see others contribute playground scenarios to it and see where it goes.
